The start
We made it till the very end. I never thought it was possible, but we were patient and loved each other very much. I was able to land some well-paying jobs and got my very own first car and was saving up for a two-bedroom apartment. He and Dierrea would talk about our future a lot when we were younger. It was lovely being with her, and I was also saving up for some other stuff in the future, like for dates, marriage and sweet gifts I want to buy her.
I had just gotten enough saved up for a two-bedroom apartment and I got it. I couldn't wait to tell her the news. Surprisingly, I made more than my father and the amount I made for each paycheck I got was enough for us to get through.
For the first date, I took Dierrea to an aquarium. I've always liked the thought of aquarium dates with her. It was one of the aquariums my Auntie had brought me and my younger brother along with my older brother when we were young. We went in, and we saw sea animals and fossils hanging on the ceiling, but it was just for decoration and probably fake, but that didn't matter. I was with her, we checked in, then walked around a bit while holding hands, then we took the stairs down and there were a few small statues of sea animals and other things, then we saw an eel or two along the way, then we turned left to go through a tunnel. We stopped to see a few animals and the water was around and above us, it was huge. We saw stingrays, fish, and even some sharks, while there were people cleaning inside the tank. We also took pictures together and continued more through the place.
"No wonder the outside looked so small, everything was underneath, which I think most aquariums are?"
And we talked from there and there was a center with kids there while the turtle from Finding Dory was on the screen. We watched the kids play around and laugh while running. It was lovely.
Then we went to this area where most of the stingrays were. The speakers came on
"You can now pet the stingray, use two fingers to pet it and let it slowly glide your finger and guide your fingers on their backs."
I was always scared to do it, but I did it this time and I looked at Dierrea.
"You're not going to do it along with us darling?'
"Its..."
"I can't do it man."
I giggled a little, it was always sweet being with her. Then onto the next area. It was this long bridge and when we looked beneath our feet there was this huge body of water. We were above these whales, there were three whales.
"Wow, this must be a huge place if they can have three whales in the same place."
I said
"Yea, it seems pretty huge. I wonder how deep the water is though."
Dierrea replied.
We went across the small bridge and there were nets all around it. It felt amazing to go on a date with her here. We headed on up out of there because I reserved to go to a cat café after the aquarium and a reservation to see the cats. Dierrea loved cats. She even asked me about getting nine cats when we were younger. That's why I got a two-bedroom apartment, a room for the cats and all their stuff. I named one of the cats' Mailbox and fed all the cats raw meat every other day with quail eggs. I always stayed with the cats, cleaning them, playing with them, feeding them, and petting them till Dierrea woke up. I tried cooking breakfast or food for us, but I was never really a person who could cook. I mean I burned boiled eggs many times before, then somehow set the whole thing on fire and I never told her about that fire part. I'd also do some cleaning before she woke up if I could, and I've always done the dishes. I just want her to relax from chores or cleaning, and I'd always ask her to teach me how to cook. She was always fine with her and I took some notes on the recipes or how she cooked them or how long it would be in the stove or oven for.
I heard one of the floorboards creeking, knowing she was finally awake, and I rushed back to her, and we were back in bed again while I was on top of her, hugging her tightly.
"Wait, I have to use the bathroom dear"
"..."
My ears and face started turning red, I still got flustered by her calling me dear. I just hugged her tighter.
"Please dear,"
"..."
I hugged her for a few more moments, then I let her go. I waited on the couch for her with one of the cats. I prompted the cat up, making it wave both paws to her mother, who had just come out of the washroom. The cat yawned, then jumped off my lap, then found somewhere to sleep for a bit.
Dierrea had giggled a little at the thought of me prompting the cat to wave both paws.
"What are you doing dear?"
She said in a loving and cheerful voice.
"We were just waiting for you, my love,"
"We bought all of their beds, but they seem to like the floors better."
"Should we get them heating pads for their beds?"
I said
"Maybe, dear."
She gave me a kiss and headed towards the kitchen to grab something to eat or drink. I went to go grab my shoes and jacket to get ready to leave for work.
"I'm leaving in fifteen minutes, my love."
I told her.
"Okay dear, be safe out there, alright?"
She replied,
"Okay, I will be my love."
Then I started putting my jacket and shoes on, then started heading towards the kitchen where she was. She was drinking a Capri sun. I asked her if she needed anything on her way to work or back from work.
"I don't need anything, dear."
She replied to me
I gave her a little peck on her forehead, then left. Then, I stopped at a nearby store and got her some flowers, her favorite drinks and snacks, a card to write on, then. Then I went to work. I usually got home by ten or eleven at night, so I tried to spend as much time with her as I could. I always took some time off work for her if I felt like we didn't spend enough time together.
