Lacy’s POV
I close my bedroom door behind me, and as giddy as can be I hop in the shower to get ready as fast as possible. I cannot wait to spend time with Jake. It’s been difficult to be here and not really be able to be fully present as myself. Being alone with Jake lets me relax and feel a little bit more free.
Earlier today, I noticed how careful Jake is being with me in public since I’m not his official mate. I quickly realized doing anything affectionate like holding hands in public is not the best idea, at least for now. All he did earlier was touch my back and Erica immediately caught on. What happens when more people start to notice? Someone is bound to start asking questions and figure out who I am. Word would get around fast, and then Travis or the dark hunters could find me.
