Chapter 42 – Unexpected Guests
“That's it,” Irylia said. “The R&D building.”
They crouched in the shadow of a building across the street. The fire alarm had been turned off, and no new alarm had taken its place. Even better, the R&D building appeared unguarded. Calael seemed to have been right about the Paragons' lack of discipline. There wasn't any real wind anymore, but the rain continued to fall with a gentle patter. All in all, the fort was peaceful at the moment.
The moment didn't last. An explosion boomed from somewhere in Seagate, and a cloud mushroomed into the sky. The echoes reverberated off the stone walls of Bay Point Redoubt.
“My poor city.” Irylia sighed. “Such a shame.”
“Let's focus on the mission,” Shariel said with a scowl.
