Chapter 43 – Labyrinth The R&D building was new, at least in comparison to the dungeon. The corridor was well-lit, and everything was white and gleaming. It smelled like science. There was an occasional door on one side of the hall or the other, and every door had a card reader. There were no labels or signs—only numbers painted on the top of each doorframe. And it was quiet. The structure must have been soundproofed, because there was no noise at all from outside. Jerry wondered who the security alarm was intended to alarm if no one in the building could hear it.
