“Glass Hearts & Crimson Ties”
They said Saint Aurelius Academy was for the gifted. But they didn’t say what kind of gift... Or that once you entered, The only way out was through blood. Chapter One — Arrival Her name was Sera Blackwood. Seventeen. Quiet. She never knew her father. Her mother disappeared in a fire. She was raised by strangers who spoke in whispers and never let her out at night. Then the letter came: You’ve been accepted into Saint Aurelius Academy. A prestigious, elite boarding school tucked away in the Black Pines of Vermont. No one knew it existed. And that should’ve been her first warning. Chapter Two — The First Bite The school was old. Beautiful. Gothic. Tall towers. Stone courtyards. Red windows that looked like they wept at night. Everyone there was strange. Too pale. Too perfect. Eyes that glowed when they thought no one noticed. Teachers who never aged. And then there was Luca Thorne. Eighteen. Distant. Deadly. Top of every class. Never seen during the day. He warned her to leave. “This place doesn’t want you here. I don’t want you here.” But when she cut her finger in Chemistry, he stared like she was made of gold and sins. And for a second, his fangs showed. Chapter Three — Blood and Boundaries She tried to escape. The gates wouldn’t open. The forest outside turned her around, no matter how far she walked. Luca found her in the snow. “You’re not the first girl who tried. You’re just the first one they want to keep.” He offered her his coat. His hand. And a warning: “They’ll feed on you until you’re hollow… unless you’re mine.” Chapter Four — The Taste of Guilt They made a deal. She’d be under his protection. No one would touch her. No one would feed. Except him. Only him. The first time he drank from her, she cried. Not from pain — but from want. And when he wiped her tears, he whispered: “I hate what you make me feel. But I’ll burn the world before I let anyone else taste you.” She should’ve run. She didn’t. Chapter Five — A Crimson Obsession Luca changed. He stopped attending classes. Started following her everywhere. Touched her like she was made of glass — then kissed her like she was a curse. She found his journal. Every page was her. Drawings. Notes. “The girl with blood like sunlight.” “You’re not the only thing I’ve ever wanted,” he told her. “But you’re the first thing I’ve ever wanted enough to die for.” She wasn’t afraid. She was already his. Final Chapter — Death Day Ball Once a year, the vampires choose. One student. One human. One offering. This year, they chose Sera. Luca snapped the Elder’s neck on stage. War broke out. Fire. Screams. Blood on marble floors. In the end, Luca carried her to the tower. “I killed for you. Now they’ll kill me.” “Then I’ll stay here. With you.” “You don’t understand. You’ll live. I’ll rot in the crypt.” “Then I’ll rot beside you.” He kissed her — soft, broken, desperate. And when they came for him, she stood in front of him... ...and slit her own throat. Epilogue — Glass Never Mends Right She didn’t die. Not really. He turned her. Now they walk the halls of Saint Aurelius, hand in blood-stained hand. She’s colder. Crueler. Deadlier. But he still looks at her like she’s the only soft thing in his world of stone. And sometimes, late at night, she asks him: “Would you have loved me if I stayed human?” And he always answers: “No. I would’ve mourned you forever.” The End.
