Begging for rejection

Chapter 23 - Awake

Alexandria POV

It’s been four days, he is still asleep... yes, just asleep.

The doctors said his injuries are fully healed but his wolf is for some reason dormant and so is he.

I guess the rejection with the attack took its toll on him.

He shouldn’t have done that, shouldn’t have saved me, I could have handled all of the rogues myself… but I couldn’t, could I?

I’m getting rusty. I should go back to training.

This can’t happen again. I need to be at my full strength for when I kill Adam, the son of a b***h who killed my family.

We are close, Max said that he gathered enough evidence against him so that the Hunter community will have no choice but to shun him, and then I’ll hunt him down and kill him, he might be strong and a pure blood but so am I, I’m one of a kind too, and he won’t have his team to support him this time, he deceived me once but not again.

I was pushing my food a round on my plate, not really having an appetite to eat anything with everything happening.

I was lost in my own thoughts that I didn’t really notice I’m the only one left in the dining hall, until someone roughly pushed my plate off the table and crashing into the floor.

“What the f**k?” I say looking up only to find Natalia and Sandy with that other friend they have and they brought company... it doesn’t look like a friendly visit.

I look at the clock on the wall and it’s after 10, dinner time is over and I doubt there is anyone around but the omegas who are cleaning the kitchen, and they for sure won’t interfere.

I count ten in total, six women and four men … I can take them... or maybe I shouldn’t, no normal human can take down 10 werewolves, I will be exposed, maybe try diplomacy first?

I couldn’t finish my thought because a punch came flying towards me, landing right on my face,

“ You are the reason the alpha is in the hospital” Natalia snarls at me… well, f**k Diplomacy.

That b***h tries to land another punch, but before she could, I catch her fist and twist it so hard until I hear a crack.

She falls to the ground groaning in pain and before I can say anything, I see another girl coming from my right with a tray in her hands, probably wanting to smash it in my face, and before she could, I grab it from her hands and smash it to the face of the one coming from my left before I return to the one on the right, who is still a little shocked, and punch her right in the nose.

I see another man trying to grab me from across the table, I step aside and grab the back of his head and smash it as hard as I can into the table.

It bounces back up and to the floor he goes, four down, six to go, I have to work fast and go because these goddamn wolves recover fast.

I turn around and see another three ready to kick my ass.

I don’t hesitate before I kick the guy in the middle, right in the ribs, fracturing a few probably and with the same leg I give a sidekick to the girl on my right.

FUCK! I think I pulled something, I really am rusty,

I don’t have time to adjust my stance, when the guy on the left grabs my hair and tries to push my head towards the wall in an attempt to introduce us in the most violent manner.

I use the wall for my advantage to push off of it and flip myself over him , landing behind him and putting him in a choke hold falling to the ground.

I see the last three coming towards me and the asshole in my arm still didn’t go to sleep yet, f**k.

“STOP, that b***h is mine” Natalia yells at the three still standing, really dude? Your wrist is broken.

The one I’m holding finally falls unconscious, I toss him to the side and stand up.

“I’m not fighting you when your wrist is broken, it will be just boring for me” I say dismissively.

“Oh, are you scared you ar-” Natalia starts to say but I cut her off, this is stupid and I’m kinda tired.

“Shut up, just shut up Natalia and don’t embarrass yourself, I mean look around you, do I look like someone who would be scared to lose against an injured omega. Come on” I say all bored, almost rolling my eyes.

“It’s Zeta” she says through gritted teeth, then runs toward me.

“Whatever, let’s finish this” I say taking my fighting stance, I try to kick her in the stomach as she reaches me but she blocks it and comes back with a kick of her own.

I catch it and trap her leg in my arm and push her back as hard as I can.

We land on the table cracking it and she actually lands another punch to my side with her good hand, that b***h is strong, she goes for another punch, but I stop her.

I raise my hand to punch her in her f*****g perfect yet annoying face, but someone from behind me grabs my hand,

“ALEXANDRIA, STOP” the voice shouts at me, it can’t be, I look up and it’s him… Derek.

“Everybody leave, NOW” he booms with his alpha command looking angry.

He let’s go of my hand and I get off a smiling Natalia who doesn’t seem to feel any pain now that Derek is in-front of her.

Everyone leaves as commanded and I’m still rooted to my spot in disbelief.

I just visited him a couple of hours ago and there were no changes.

“Alexandria, what the hell is hap-” I don’t let him finish as I launch myself towards him, wrapping my arms around his neck, not caring who might see us or if he is even going to hug me back.

“You are awake, you are back” I say just above a whisper, and to my pleasure, he hugs me back even tighter, wrapping his arms around my waist.

“I’ll always come back for you Ria” he whispers in my ears.

Our beautiful moment is interrupted by the clearing of a throat

“Maybe it’s best if we take this up in the office before a certain someone sees this” Dylan says, and gets a backhand swat to his chest from Sophia.

“You could have waited a minute longer babe” Sof says, all annoyed with her mate, and I remember, I know who that certain someone is.

I feel my anger rising, then I push myself away from a confused Derek.

“Yes, we don’t want your girlfriend to see us like that” I say with a fake smile and I can actually hear him swallowing hard.
