Begging for rejection

Alexandria Salvatore POV It was my birthday, I was in the kitchen cleaning up after the small party that my husband and his mother, father and younger sister Leila surprised me with. Leila was our biggest supporter, you might say, we had a rough start where both our families didn’t really approve of our relationship, she was just 17 and thought life is a romantic novel. Life was good and I finally had a loving family surrounding me and it was about to get better and bigger. I was finishing up in the kitchen while Luke was cleaning up in the living room, I remembered when I first saw Luke; he was following me around, from the coffee shop where I take my cappuccino to the diner where I was having my breakfast. When I took a turn to a dead-end alley and he followed me, I knew s**t is going down, I knew he was a werewolf, but we were in broad daylight, he can’t be that stupid to attack me now, right? I turn to face him taking a fighting stance expecting him to have a menacing look but I froze at the sight of a Latin god with dark brown hair, tanned skin and chocolate eyes with hearts popping out of his eyes “Hello beautiful” he said, I was brought out of my daze and tilted my head in confusion “is he going to flirt with me before he tries to eat me? What a sick bastard” I tell myself. “Hello stupid, last chance to walk away before you lose your head” I try to threaten him sounding as tough as I can. “ oh but I already lost my heart to you mate” he says and I can feel the love radiating off of him in waves… what the f**k did he just say? It was the start of our relationship turmoil, we tried to fight it for months but we ended up together anyways and when I got pregnant there were no doubt about it anymore we were meant to be… I never loved someone as much as I loved him, it was an easy yes when he proposed and we've been living happily ever since. I was doing the dishes smiling and counting my blessings like a fool, but life had other plans. STING! Suddenly I felt a sharp stinging pain in my neck, I reach my hand to the place of the pain and there it was... a dart that I know too well. Oh no no no, please no…. the hunters. Suddenly I started to feel dizzy and the next thing I hear the front door being kicked down, I heard Luke screaming “ALEXANDRIA RUN”… I couldn't really move but I was aware of everything happening, Lucas locked eyes with me saying "I love you" with a faint smile, he was saying goodbye, because the next thing I saw was a silver dagger going through the love of my life’s heart as he shuts his eyes forever. I screamed with all the strength that I had but it didn't help… no one can help us now, I heard screams coming from all over the pack and I could smell the smoke ... they killed the entire pack and set their houses on fire to make an example. They dragged me out of the house but not before one of the assholes kicks my stomach few times with all his strength ... I tried to fight them but by now the drug in the dart was taking effect and all I could do is lay there with my tears flowing while my whole life is being ripped from me. I died that night but my body was still breathing, I really wished they've killed me too but death was too kind of a fate I guess. 3 years later Today is my birthday I'm turning 25. I get ready for work as usual… my days are all the same now, just surviving with one goal on mind ... revenge, but little that I knew, my life was about to take yet another turn... how f****d up can my life really be. I was running late this morning as I slept in, I got to bed late last night. It was always like that the night before my birthday and the few nights after, I cry all night remembering what I've lost, I hate my birthday and always will. I left the apartment looking like a mess, I was rushing, crossing the street like I was running for my life, when a car almost hit me "watch where you're going you psycho " the angry driver yelled. He had every right to be angry and I probably did look like a psycho, but I wasn’t in the mood so I just flipped him the middle finger anyway and shouted "WELL f**k YOU KEN DOLL" he had blond hair and blue eyes and looked like a pretty boy. I continued running to the building across the street where I work, I barely made it in time. I might have anger issues... Oops. Derek STRONGHOLD POV "WELL f**k YOU KEN DOLL ", my eyes shoot up from my phone. That voice, my wolf perked up. I had to see her face for some reason but she was running across the street I only got to see her back. "What the f**k did she just call me" Dean, my beta and younger brother, snarled. Only then I registered what just happened, I was laughing to hard to answer. "Really Derek" he said annoyed as he pulled in the parking garage. "What can I say, she wasn't wrong pretty boy" I said laughing but my wolf was almost howling now so I became agitated and on high alert. We entered the elevator and Dean noticed the change in my attitude, "What’s wrong? You were laughing just a minute ago" Dean said. "I don't know man; Rex is on high alert and howling so loud it's giving me a headache. But its not something dangerous, it’s something else I can't figure it out ". DING! We arrived to our floor; I was keeping my eyes shut rubbing my temple from the headache Rex is giving me, all of a sudden it hit me, the sweetest most intoxicating scent I ever smelled, it smells like...heaven. "s**t" I heard the faintest whisper if I wasn't a werewolf and an alpha I wouldn't have heard it, I looked up, our eyes locked before she quickly looked away, it was her... the girl Dean almost ran over, the girl with the heavenly scent and a sailor's mouth ... my MATE. She had a dark shiny hair that flowed on her back and the most gorgeous brown eyes that went perfectly with her slightly tanned skin, she was wearing a buttoned white shirt and I couldn’t really see the rest as she was standing behind the reception high desk, she looked a bit disheveled like she got ready in a hurry. "What the hell" Dean said, and started walking toward her. "Hello" he said staring at her but she didn't even raise her eyes from the papers on her desk. I need to see those gorgeous eyes again. "Hey I'm talking to you" Dean said raising his voice and talking in a tone that I didn't appreciate. "stand down Dean before I punch your f*****g face and you better stop staring at her like that or I'll rip your eyes out" I growled through mind link, he stiffened and looked at me confused. Another girl came greeting us " Mr. Stronghold, welcome, please come with me" and without asking any questions she leads us to the office, " Mr. Simon will be right there" the girl says. Now that we are alone in the office Dean mind linked me, we usually did that when we are among humans because we can't risk anyone over hearing us. "What was that? Don't tell me you want to get with her, she is human" he objected through mind link. Yes, she is a human but she is the mate that I was waiting for for 10 f*****g years. I barely contained a growl to the way he was talking about her but I can’t make a scene here. "Shut your f*****g mouth right now before I shut you up forever. I'll explain later" I mind linked. He looked at me more confused, then shocked "Is she…" he trailed off. "Yes, your Luna", he sighed dramatically saying "Finally".
