CHAPTER NINETEEN George stood on the front doorstep of his house. His body was still as a statue as he held the key out in front of him just millimetres away from the lock. He kept it there for a moment as he imagined what he might see on the other side. A bloodstained carpet didn’t bother him. The death of his boss was deeply painful for him but it was the thought of Sara defenceless against Savic that most affected him. He had failed her and for that he would never forgive himself.
