The snarling beasts lunged at me, their teeth bared and claws extended.
"Stay back!"
I shouted, my voice almost trembling with fear, desperately trying to keep the ferocious creatures at bay.
"You don't want to do this!"
The largest of the rogues, a massive grey wolf with wild, untamed eyes, bared his teeth in a menacing snarl.
"You're trespassing on our territory, little pup," he growled, his voice dripping with malice.
"We don't take kindly to intruders."
"I didn't mean to intrude," I stammered, my heart hammering in my chest.
"I'm just trying to survive, like you."
The rogue wolves laughed, their cruel laughter echoing through the stillness of the forest.
"Survive? You?" sneered a wiry, brown-furred wolf, his amber eyes glinting with malice.
"You're no match for us. You're nothing but prey," sneered the wiry, brown-furred rogue, his amber eyes glinting with malice. My heart raced as their predatory eyes fixed on me with chilling intensity. I gritted my teeth, fear giving way to fierce determination.
Suddenly, a magnificent wolf, larger and more majestic than the rest, lunged into the fight. His fur was a deep, lustrous black, and his eyes blazed with a fierce protective light. I knew instantly that he was the Alpha of the Moonstone Pack. Zane.
I stumbled back, my heart pounding in my chest, as I watched in awe as Zane fought off the rogues with a breathtaking display of strength and agility. His deep, resonant growls filled the air.
As the last of the rogues fled, Zane turned his attention to me, his gaze assessing and intense. "Are you hurt?" he asked, his voice deep and resonant. I shook my head, still in shock from the sudden turn of events.
"Why are you here alone in the woods, facing off against a pack of rogues?" Zane inquired, his eyes probing yet filled with genuine concern.
"I…I was banished," I stammered, my voice barely above a hoarse murmur. The memories of that painful moment flooded back, threatening to overwhelm me once more.
Zane's expression softened, and he offered me a silent understanding that spoke volumes. What is your name? He asked
"Zoe" I responded, Zane nodded solemnly. "You're safe now," he reassured me, his gaze not leaving my face.
"I'm Zane, Alpha of Bloodstone Pack." He introduced himself and continued
"Come with me. My pack has been tracking those rogues, and we won't let them harm anyone else."
As our journey brought us to the Moonstone Pack's territory, I was amazed by the beauty that surrounded us. The landscape was so serene, with tall trees and a clear, glistening stream. Some of the pack members threw glances at me, probably wondering who the Alpha brought back with him. Some gave me a welcoming smile, bringing warmth to my heart.
Zane, turned to me with a smile "Welcome to Moonstone Pack". he announced
"Thank you" I responded
"Let me show you to your room"
He led me through a corridor, and we went upstairs. When we got to the door of my supposed room, he opened it.
"Please come in," he said, making way for me to go in.
The room was beautiful and decorated with beautiful artwork on the wall, I ran my hands on the artwork.
"These are so beautiful" I complimented
"Thank you, I hope you like the room?" Zane asked
"Of course I love it" I responded with a smile
"You can stay here as long as you need," Zane assured me, his eyes showing genuine concern.
"Thank you" I replied
"Hold on, I'll be right back," he said as he left the room. I took my little luggage and unpacked the little items I could pack before leaving Crimson Pack.
A few minutes later, he returned with a first aid kit and knelt beside me.
"Let's get those wounds cleaned up," he said softly, his hands gentle as he tended to my injuries.
"Does it hurt?" He asked while applying disinfectant to my wounds
"It just stings a little" I responded and he blew on it trying to ease my pain.
"He's so sweet," Twinkle said to me stirring in excitement
"I know right?" I responded to her in my mind while watching Zane take care of my injuries. He knows as werewolves we heal fast and I would heal before morning but he still takes his time to treat the injuries
"And have you seen that handsome face? He's so cute" she said
"Shut up already" I yelled at her before she put crazy thoughts in my head. When Zane was done, he patted my shoulder.
"Take your time, heal, and rest. You're safe here," he reassured me, his words soothing my troubled mind.
As the days went by, I began to feel more at home in the Pack, finding comfort and friendship among my fellow werewolves. Zane, always kind and caring, helped me heal from the pain Zephyr had caused me even though he didn't know about it.
"Come on, Zoe, you've got this!" Zane encouraged me during our training sessions.
"Thanks, Zane. I'm really trying," I replied, feeling grateful for his support.
Each day, we trained with the others, and I could feel myself getting stronger. Zane would often give me tips and pointers
"Keep your guard up and focus on your breathing. You're doing great," he would say with a reassuring smile.
His guidance and encouragement made a real difference, and I could feel myself improving with each passing day.
One sunny afternoon, while we were practicing in the forest, I looked across the clearing and locked eyes with Zane. It felt like a jolt of energy passed between us, and suddenly, I felt a strong connection to him. For a moment, it was like time stood still.
Zane's eyes widened in surprise, and I felt my heart race as a flood of emotions and images washed over me. It was as if a door had been flung open, allowing me to see into Zane's soul. His memories, his experiences, and his deepest emotions flowed into my consciousness, intertwining with my own thoughts and feelings.
The connection was intense, and it left me feeling breathless and overwhelmed. It was as if something extraordinary had just happened, then it just came to my mind that we just imprinted and before I could sort out my thoughts, Twinkle mumbled
"Mate"
