chapter # 1
Sophie had always dreamed of finding true love, but as she turned thirty, she began to worry that it might never happen for her. She had dated plenty of men over the years, but none of them seemed to be the right fit. They were either too selfish, too immature, or just not interested in a serious relationship.
As she sat at her desk one day, scrolling through her social media feed, she came across a post from an old friend, Sarah. Sarah had recently gotten engaged, and her post was filled with pictures of her and her fiancé, Dan. They looked so happy together, and Sophie couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.
She closed her laptop and leaned back in her chair, staring out the window at the city skyline. She wondered when it would be her turn to find someone to share her life with. She thought about all the things she wanted in a partner: someone kind, thoughtful, and supportive. Someone who would make her laugh and be her rock when times got tough.
But where was she supposed to find someone like that? She didn't go out to bars or clubs very often, and her job didn't offer many opportunities to meet new people. She had tried online dating, but it always seemed to be a disappointment. The men she met were either completely wrong for her, or they didn't look anything like their profile pictures.
Sophie sighed and picked up her phone. She scrolled through her contacts, wondering if there was anyone she could call to take her mind off things. But then she remembered that her best friend, Rachel, was out of town for the weekend. She was going to have to find something to do on her own.
