Blurb

On June 24th 1425 it all started and it was dark and the warm breeze of the trees in the forest hit the town. The smell of death was of everyone, blood ran the streets and foamed a river, an all-you-can-eat buffet for the creatures that hunt at night. Vampires and werewolves saved more lives than the feeders took in the Great War, can you believe it? The feeders are an abomination to vampires; they live on the blood of vampires and just kill humans for fun not to survive. The war trapped the Feeders into a portal of this realm, where they would starve and hopefully be forgotten. They can and will never be free. It's not her story, it's his. Chapter 1
Scarlet 1645 A strange shadow appeared and tried to bite me. Bite me? He leaned again. This time he grabbed hold of me, his teeth sank into my neck and a huge burning shock traveled straight through my body. I pushed him off. My heart squeezed tightly, my lungs felt as if they were collapsing, and my throat got tighter with the cold air of the night entering and exiting as quickly as the blinks of my burning eyes. I looked down the stony pathway, the candles in the streets hardly gave me a good view of trying to get myself home, to try and get to sight safely. I watched painfully as the small raindrops hit the floor, as did my knees. My puffy dress gets tangled under my heels and the only kindness I got from the floor was the cold puddles sinking into my steaming hot skin. I trembled in fear, feeling an extremely hot liquid pumping through my body, through my aching head. I gripped my hat and threw it off me, I held my curly blond hair as if that was what was causing me the pain. I cried, I screamed. But with the rain dropping around me, no one came to help. No one to save me. I could feel its eyes on me again. I stumbled to get up, but my legs cannot hold me. "PLEASE!' I screamed again. "Anyone." I whimpered. I heard footsteps this time. I opened my eyes but the tears, the rain, and the wind were forcing them to close again. "Hello, please help. Sir?" My heart was stopping, I could feel it, I was struggling to breathe, to speak. This is my last night. In the village. In this life. At the same time, I could feel the thing inside me, racing through every vain and killing the last little blood I had left, killing my humanity. The footsteps got closer, my head got further towards the floor, everything stopped, and the footsteps disappeared. I can now hear my hot tears running down my pearl cheeks. So hot, it felt as if my eyes were bleeding, as if every drop that fell beneath me in the puddle would steam back up to my face. So quiet, I can hear my heart thumping out of my chest. Out of my head. I grabbed whatever was in front of me, smooth silk shoes, I forced my head with even the strength I had left and looked up at his face. I couldn't figure him out. I tried and pleaded for help but nothing came out of my mouth. He watched me as blood poured from my destroyed neck. I might have been mistaken, but it's as if I can see his eyes through this darkness, red! Surely not. His fair skin, and his pitch-black hair dripped over his face. He knelt to me, I flitched to the touch of his stone-cold fingers that stroked my face, and my brows creased. I struggled to move his hand away from me, but it was useless. His voice was so deep it felt almost impossible, "Hello there," He said. "I've been looking for you."... I opened my eyes, I felt fresh and felt strange. I cannot explain this feeling, I feel wrong. Powerful. My pain was gone, my hand reached for my neck and I pulled it back to my eyesight. No blood? No wound? My mouth opened to speak, but I stopped myself, my tongue scanned my teeth, it was almost a sudden shock. My fingers followed my tongue and touched the unnatural sharp teeth I now have. My throat cramps and feels so dry. I took a few heavy breaths before I tried to stand. The whole place felt abandoned, walls ripped, the bed frame rusty, the chandelier hardly hanging onto its last life itself, from the ceiling, and the surrounding candles burned to the floor. I scanned the whole place while stumbling over and over again towards the window. I grabbed hold of the shutters and shattered them with my bare hands. "I.." couldn't believe it. What is this sorcery? I waited as if some gentleman would come out and curse me as a witch. But nothing. I suddenly dropped under the hole in the wall where I heard the voice of a young woman next to me. I waited again, more waiting. I finally gripped the hole again and peeped at the woman. I could feel she wasn't as close as I could touch. She was yards away. She was at least half a day's walk. But the smell of her, her sweet sweat, the rain dripping off her rose hair. Her heavy breath, her beating heart. I have to touch her... I jusy have to have her.
