The Late shifter

Lilly I started to wonder what was it going to be like tomorrow to meet the Alpha. I had never met him before and never would again. I mean the girl with no wolf they call me, human they yell, but they don't know I do have a wolf shes there, I feel her, she just has never spoken to me, I didn't shift at 18 like everyone else, and if you don't shift at 18 you wont. But I’m not a bad looking girl I am kinda tall skinny but not too skinny, with golden blond hair and baby blue eyes. But without a wolf it don't matter will my mate even want me I though you normally find your mate on your 18th birthday but just one more thing I failed to do I thought to myself as I looked into the floor length mirror in my room. I know its been hard on my family even if they wont tell me so. My mom Sarah has brown hair and blue eyes. She is so sweet a little shy tho. She has always supported me even with everything that has or I should say hasn't happened. My dad James has red hair and green eyes he too has supported me and cared for me threw everything. I some times wonder where my golden blond hair came from but who knows genes are weird. Well here I am and tomorrows my birthday yes I’ll be 21 and get my pack assignment from the Alpha himself. Our pack has many traditions one being that your family come to your pack assignment meeting. They always do these at the end of the month so some get lucky and get a few weeks before their pack assignment lucky me my birthday is the day of pack assignments. My Gram-gram decided to come early shes the oldest wolf of our family so she has to present me to the Alpha. I ran down stairs when I herd her come threw the door she looks no older then 35 but shes 600 years old. Her mate had been killed years ago by a rouge but that didn't stop Gram-gram from being the wonderful sweet women she is. Well Gram-gram and I are really close even tho shes not my mom or dads mom she is my great, great, great, great grandmother. She smiled at me letting me know everything was okay but would it be I wondered. I am so worried that I will not be given a place int the pack being wolf less and all. Everyone else has a wolf just not me. “My Lilly girl” Gram-gram smiled “you have grown so fast.” “I hope that Alpha is not too hard on you tomorrow but we wont know until we get there” she said. “I know Gram-gram” I said “Maybe he will not be too harsh I’m sure he knows about me.” Gram-gram looked at me she smiled and said “I don't think he knows your wolf is dormant he thinks you don't have one.” I thought to myself how does she now shes dormant I never told anyone that I just told them I didn't have one I didn't want to shame our family. “How did you know Gram-gram?” I asked puzzled. She said “cause I can sense her, I always have I just thought you would tell me when you were ready.” “I-I-I’m sorry I didn't tell you sooner I thought it would bring shame on our family, it would look like the moon goddess had cursed us” I cried out. Gram-gram hugged me, “you are noting to be ashamed of my beautiful Lilly.” she told me. “Besides they already think that and it doesn't matter you are loved ether way” she said to me. My mom Sarah and dad James agreed and smiled “I wish you would have told us that your wolf was just dormant” my mom said sweetly as they all 3 gave me a big hug. I took Gram-gram to her room it was upstairs and 3 doors down from mine. I asked her if she needed anything else she didn’t so I went to my room. All 15 of my family members were coming tomorrow per tradition my family were they only ones to treat me well, but only Gram-gram could stand with me to face the Alpha for my job assignment because she is the oldest living relative. I was beginning to get nervous. It was getting late and it was time to lay down. I looked at my clock it was 10:30pm and it was dark outside the moon was only half full. I looked at the moon and started to get the strange feeling something was going to happen but what. I decided to pray to the moon goddess “please goddess let everything be ok tomorrow” I said softly. I decided to lay down and try to fall asleep it was probably just nerves about tomorrow. Finally sleep found me as I closed my eyes I read the clock it said 11:00pm. I began to dream I was at a beautiful lake there were 3 mountains behind it the moon was high in the sky glistening off the lake, I heard this beautiful tune being hummed I looked around for the source and I saw her. She was a beautiful women with hair that reminded me of the night sky in the light of the moon it looked as if it had stars in it with a crescent moon balanced on top her head and a long white dress she looked as if she were glowing she was standing by the lake humming. I walked up to her and right beside her lay this beautiful white wolf with a golden star on her forehead. “Hello” her angelic voice rang out to me “I am the moon goddess and this” motioning to the beautiful sleeping wolf beside her “is Star she is your wolf treat her well”. “Really” I said not understanding what was going on “But I have no wolf goddess” I heard myself say. She turned to look at me and her face was so beautiful and she said to me “things are about to change don't be scared for they are only good”.she turned away from me and said “everything is not as it seems soon you will know the truth”. My dream faded and I jolted awake the clock said 11:55pm I was asleep less then an hour and I had this strange urge, feeling, need that I had to get outside and fast. I walked as quickly and quietly as possible out the back door and ran as fast as I could into the woods to were I could no longer see the house or anything but trees. Then it happened………….
