Chapter 2
The three set for the journey to the forest. They talked about many things and how the two days camp is going to be.
Luna kept thinking on her own. Should she go back? Or she should continue?
Moreover, it's just two days. She needed fun but this doesn't sounds like fun but something....urgh it's just unexplainable.
The tall trees and small trees then the grasses were green and attractive. Different fruits were hung to the branches.
Luna wondered if this is really what they call the Devil forest. It doesn't look scary or look haunted at all.
The sun shone brightly as they moved further into forest.
Soon, they got to a place that was clear and big just like a field.
"Luna, you look worried. You can go back if you want." Nancy chuckled. She knew Luna can't go back. She'd be even scared to go back.
"No! I'm not going back. I'm staying. I don't feel like going back. Let's just sit and begin our fun." She grinned her teeth and was the first to sit down then the two joined her.
They played cards and hunted small animals, plucked some fruit and did some tour around before going back to their so called camp.
The sun disappeared and was replaced with the bright moon.
"You didn't come to class yesterday, why?" Julian asked Luna who was busy looking around the forest like she was looking for something.
Truth be told, her mind isn't at rest when it comes to night time. She's always restless. No parents to soothe her. Just no one. Even her friends hardly come to her house to visit her cause of how far it is from the town.
Luna turned her head swiftly to julian and answered, "Yes, I was kinda sick yesterday." She responded truthfully.
"Ohh! I see. Anyway, we need to read for the coming exam now. I'll get started with biology." Nancy chipped in.
"Take the chemistry." Said Luna.
"While I take the maths." Julian said lastly.
The trio brought out their books and read till it was midnight and all decided to bid themselves goodnight.
As expected, Luna couldn't sleep. She gazed at that same direction she's been staring at since they came here.
Was she expecting something to appear?
Was she expecting someone to come?
Why looking at that direction all the time.
Suddenly, she felt her urine bladder filled already and she wanted to empty it.
Luna got up from her small thin mattress and walked into the forest a little. She pulled her underthings down and bent down to urinate.
As soon as she was through, she wore her pant and took two steps when she heard a big thud. Like something something fell down from above.
Her heart skipped three beats and she quickly ran to the camp meeting the Julian and Nancy. The two were already awake cause the sound shook the whole forest.
"Did..did you hear that?" Nancy stuttered.
"Yeah I did." Julian nodded and another heavy thud was heard again.
"O-okay, I think we made a mistake in coming here. Let's just go from this place and leave this forest. It looks like something is going to happen." Luna stammered, looking at that same direction again.
The sound was like footsteps. Coming closer to them.
"We need to leave here. I'm going first." Luna hurriedly packed her books, clothes but left the tent there.
No need to take that. She can afford another one.
In a sudden thunder struck a tree and it caught fire immediately. Wind blew around them while they took their things and ran away faster than Luna.
So funny, Luna isn't a good runner. Her friends who called themselves brave were the ones who left her behind running for their lives.
Even the Julian boy isn't supposed to run so fast like that.
Luna heard a roar behind her. This must be something mighty. Her heart beat faster, loudly enough for her to hear herself.
Luna being the curious cat stopped to see where the roar was coming from.
This midnight didn't favor her at all. This is really not a tour. And not camping.
In three seconds, a light appeared and disappeared.
Luna screamed and dropped her books. She turned to run away when she saw big amber eyes staring at wildly at her and sniffing towards her. The body is still covered due to the darkness, she couldn't see the remaining body.
She didn't need to. Only the head is enough to scare her out.
While running, she kept looking back in fear till she strip. She fell down and suddenly seeing the creature big creature in her front, she fainted.
********
A huge red and white dragon moved close to Luna. It shifted as he stares at the lady in front. Drake examined her face with a frown and pierced his sharp nail into Luna's neck and it brought out blood.
"Human." He said and tilted his head.
He looked around and smelled the environment to see if there's anyone watching. No human around.
He stared at her again like a lion ready to devour a prey and carried her. His sharp nail went back to normal and he walked slowly. Making his way to her house.
He'd monitored her since he came here. Her movements and everything. She's his target.
**
He took her home and lay her down on the cold floor in her room.
Few minutes later, Luna woke up and looked around her environment.
She didn't remember anything other than she seeing a huge head with amber eyes and she fainted.
But who brought her here?
She knew Julian and Nancy won't come back for her.
How did she get to her house so quick?
A little sound afar made her heart skipped amd she quickly looked back.
She raised her head up and her throat felt dry.
A man standing with his hands on his leather pocket trouser.
She quickly stand and asked, "Who are you and what are you doing here? How did you get into my house?"
Drake left where he was standing and came to sit on the small chair across the room.
"I'm Drake and I'm here for a mission." He answered.
"Mission in my house?"
"I will explain part of it for you when you agree to help me."
"Help you? I can't help you in a mission I don't know. It might be dangerous and I don't want my life to be in danger." She huffed.
"That aside. I will be living with you for sometime till I'm ready to go back. I hope you don't mind. I'm not harmful. Also I need someone I can trust. Can I trust you?" He narrowed his green eyes at her.
"No! Just go back! How can you even trust someone you only see for the first time?"
"I know I can trust you. Your part in this mission is just little."
"See, Drake or whatever your name is, I can't......"
"Please, lady." He pleaded this time.
Luna sighed heavily. "Fine! I hope it's not dangerous. And you need to tell me everything about you."
"I will. Thank you and it's not dangerous. Calm down because I will be part of it too."
