Love Blinds

I watch as the seconds tick by on the clock. I am ready to get out of school. I'm in my last class of the day which happens to be my least favorite, science. In five minutes the final bell will ring and I will be released from this prison I call school. My science teacher, Mr. Powers, is talking about tonight's homework. Before Mr. Powers could pass out the homework, the final bell rings. After I pack up all my stuff and walk out of the classroom my best friend, Stormie, and her boyfriend, Jax, link their arms with mine. "So who wants to get some ice cream then head to the park?” Jax asks the both of us. “Can't. I have to babysit tonight,”Stormie says. “ But maybe we can tomorrow.” She quickly adds after seeing the look on Jax's face. "What about you, Cj?” Jax asked me. Just then the rest of our friend group appears by our sides. "Sure. I'm down for some ice cream." I reply. Jax cheers and asks the rest of our friend group if they want to join. After half of our friend group agrees we all head out to the parking lot. Once I get out to my car I unlock it and Jax, Stormie and I all hop in and put our seat belts on. "Do you need me to take you to the house you're babysitting at?” I ask Stromie while backing out of my parking space. She nods and pulls directions up on her GPS. IT takes us about ten minutes to get to the address and once we do Stormie hops out of the cat and walks inside. Jax and I pull out of the driveway and start heading for the ice cream shop. “Have you heard from Brenden today?”Jax asks me. “Now that I think about it, no I haven't.” I reply while wondering if my boyfriend is okay. Just then my phone chimes. “ Can you check that for me please?” I ask Jax, not wanting to take the chance of getting into a car accident. He nods and picks up my phone. “ Um… Cj you're not going to like this.”Jax says slowly. I look at him confused and he reads the message. “Kea texted you saying Brenden is at the ice cream shop. She also sent you a picture of him kissing another girl." He explains while looking at me. “Can you call him please?” I ask calmly. He nods and calls Brenden. “Hey Babe. Where are you?” I ask once Brenden answers his phone. “I'm at my house. Why Babe?” He says after a few seconds. I look at Jax knowing that Brenden is lying. “Oh no reason. Just wanted to know if you were gonna lie to me or tell me the truth .” I explain calmly. Jax smiles knowing what's about to happen. “But I'll leave you be. Bye.” I say then Jax hangs up. "So what are you going to do?” Ja asks as I pull into the parking lot and park next to Brendens car. "Well, I'm going to confront him then break up with him." I explain. I put my car in park then grab my phone and text my brother before getting out of the car. Hey bub. Can u meet me at the icecream shop? A few seconds later my phone chimes with a text message. Yea see u in a few. I smile to myself knowing that my brother isn't going to be happy. I took a few pictures for proof. After I finish Jax and I walk into The Ice-cream shop once Kea sees me she points in the direction that Brenden and the girl are sitting at. As I start to walk over to them someone grabs my arm. When I turn around I see someone I haven't met before. "Are you okay, miss?" He asks me. "I will be once I go break up with a cheater." I reply. He lets me go but does not walk away.
