Chapter Four

693 Words
When we arrive at the party all you can hear is music. Drunk teens scattered the yard. Some couples were making out and the others were drinking and having a good time. We walk inside and all you can smell is alcohol. Stormie and Jax disappeared and Penelope got swept away by a stranger who wanted to dance. I begin looking for the kitchen, wanting to grab a drink when I see Brenden with his arm wrapped around a girl's shoulder. ‘Doesn’t take him long to move on.’ I think to myself, rolling my eyes. Before he can see me I duck into a room. Looking around the room, I realize I found the kitchen. I down a few shots then grab a cup of tequila. I leave the kitchen with my cup in hand. Dancing through the crowd, I run into Brenden. Flipping him off, I walk away before he can say anything. “Was that Brenden?” Penelope asks, appearing beside me. I nod and start to dance. Penelope and I dance and sing until Stomie and Jax are ready to go home. We all walk out to my car, chatting along the way. “Did Brenden try to talk to you, CJ?” Penelope asked. “Yea, but I didn’t give him the chance to talk,” I answer as I open my car door. We all climb in. “Brenden was there?!” Gasped Stormie. Penelope nods her head before rolling her eyes. “How did you find out he was there?” She questioned. “I saw him with another girl then later on he tried to talk to me, but I flipped him off and walked away,” I explained. Stormie nodded but didn’t say anything else. Soon enough we were pulling up to Jax’s house. Stormie kissed him and everyone said goodbye before we headed to drop Stormie off at her house. “Wanna have a sleepover?” Asks Penelope. I smile and nod. I haven't had a sleepover since I was little. Not even with Stormie. For the rest of the car ride, we talk about what we’re going to do for the rest of the night, and before we know it we’re pulling into my driveway. We head straight for my room once we’re inside. We turn the music on and paint our nails. We even talk about boys and where we want to go to college at. We laughed and had a good time until we eventually fell asleep. We wake up late the next morning to the smell of bacon. We rust straight downstairs to the kitchen. We hurry to fill our plates with delicious food. My parents smile at us as we quickly eat our food. Once finished we wash our dishes and thank my parents. We spend the rest of the day hanging out. Eventually, Stormie ends up coming over and we have a girls' day. We had so much fun. It was like we were kids again, and before we knew it I had to take the girls home. Once I got back from dropping the girls off I took a shower and got ready for bed. I watch Netflix until I finally went to sleep. When I wake up the next morning I check my phone to see six missed calls and three texts from Brenden. I roll my eyes and get out of bed, deciding that I’m not going to open his messages. “He’s not worth the time” I mumble to myself. I slowly start to get ready for school, not wanting to deal with Brenden this early in the morning. I finish getting ready in 45 minutes and head downstairs to eat breakfast before I leave for school. When I get into the kitchen I see that my dad has made eggs, bacon, hash browns, and coffee. I make myself a plate and sit at the table to eat. “Good morning Dad,” I say as I begin to eat. I finish my food quickly and head out to my car to leave for school after I wave goodbye to my dad.
