Chapter 8 Adiana woke to the soft light of morning peeking through the small window of the room. For a moment, she thought she was dreaming. The warm blanket was tucked around her, there was a familiar scent of home, some distant murmurs of the waking tribe, and all felt like something out of a memory. But when she turned her head and saw Ethan sleeping on the couch beside her bed, arms crossed, face slack with exhaustion, she knew it was real. She was home. And alive.
