Rainfall and warm vanilla

The red eyed black fog drifted until it was right in front of me. I glared back at the fiery red pools. I would not show fear. This thing fed off of fear. Black foggy tendrils came out from the center of it and stretched all around me. It felt like icy hands reaching out all around me. Then it placed a black smokey tendril on my shoulder and I felt a warm glow coming from deep within me. The glow grew until a quick blinding yellow light shot out from my shoulder where the Shadow had touched me. The Shadow gave a high pitched shriek and recoiled from me like it had been burned. The other two shadows began shrieking as well. All three Shadows disappeared in a puff of smoke. What happened? I thought. Did I do that? It happened the moment the Shadow touched me. I felt something warm and powerful swirling in the pit of my stomach. That light definitely came from me but how? "Sheya? Was that you?" No response just a solid wall when I try to speak to her. Then I see another vampire dressed in a rich purple velvet suit with slicked black hair glide towards me. As he passes the other vampires they all bow to him. "My my my what a show that was! You are special indeed! You will be my personal treat. From here on out you will stay in my quarters and no one and I mean NO ONE will touch you." the new vampire says as he glares at the others around us. I glance up at him. He is tall, very tall compared to my 5'2" frame. I have to crane my neck to see his face. He looks to be in his twenties but all vampires stop aging at that time so there was no telling how old he actually was. He has long black hair that is slicked away from his face and deep maroon eyes with golden flecks in them. His eyes. Something about his eyes seems familiar. But I can't put my finger on it. I feel like I should know those eyes but I can't place them. He grabs the silver cuffs around my wrists and ankles and I clench my teeth and hiss as my skin sizzles. He then slices through them with his long fingernails and they clang onto the gravel below. "Those won't be needed anymore my sweets. At least not in public." He says and winks at me. "Are you the Vampire King?" I ask looking into his eyes. "HA! Do I look that old?? I must not be as handsome as I thought I was to be mistaken as the old Vampire King! No, my sweets I am his grandson, Charles. I am the Vampire Prince though. One day I will rule this place but thank goodness it's no time soon. I still get to sow my wild oats." Charles winks at me again. Gross I think to myself. He won't be touching me. Feeding off me is one thing but if he actually thinks that me and him will actually... yuck no way. Ain't happening. I would rather die. He puts his arm around my shoulders and as he does I feel the warm glow tingle in my hands. I wonder if I can use that glow on him like I did with the Shadows? Sheya, I need some more of that glow stuff. Then we can escape this dreadful place. I punch him as hard as I could in his side and at the same time push the glow forward just like with the Shadow. Nothing happens. My hand feels like it hit a force field around him and no glow, no bright light. How could he stop it when the Shadow couldn't? "Tsk, nice try sweets that doesn't work on me. Come. I will show you to our quarters and let you get settled." Charles said. He then looked over the group of vampires assembled in front of the castle. His eyes then landed on a thin blonde hair girl that had her head down in the back. "Ellen! Have a wardrobe of new clothes be delivered to my room in my sweets size. And some food. She will need her strength." he ordered. "Yes my Lord" Ellen responded and bowed slightly. Charles still has his arm draped over my shoulders as he slowly leads me into the towering black castle. I will try and take in as much as I can and commit it to memory for my escape later. There are only two guards on the front entrance. They will be easy enough to sneak past. We enter into a room with tall ceilings and almost black wallpaper with gray swirls in it covering all the walls and roof. There are candles flickering from sconces that line the walls. Two huge gold chandeliers hang from the center. To the side of the room a wide iron banister black marble staircase winds its way up and out of sight above. There is a bright red runner leading up the stairs. "How original, this place looks like it came straight out of a cheap 1980s vampire movie." I say as I roll my eyes. "Where do you think the idea for that movie came from? This castle has been here since the 1500s my dear. Everything is original and very expensive." Charles replied. "The old Vampire King won't touch a thing. Him and the late Vampire Queen built this place and she designed every room herself. In her memory and honor he won't allow anyone to change any of it." Charles shrugged. "It grows on you after awhile." He then led me up the curved staircase to the second floor then turned left and went down a long hallway. He then turned right through a curved iron door that had red roses made within the iron. He then made another right then a quick left to another hallway full of doors. Second floor, left, right at rose door, right, quick left. I kept repeating each new turn over and over in my mind. If I ever get a chance to escape, there was no way I would get lost in this blasted castle. Finally at the fifth door in the hallway on the right Charles pushed open a heavy wooden door. "After you sweets." Charles grinned at me. I walked into a huge room that had a full kitchen on the right and a comfortable living room to the left. There was floor to ceiling windows on the opposite wall from me with a large balcony beyond it. On the living room side there was a door that led to the bedroom. It had a king size poster bed, a fireplace and more floor to ceiling windows with a balcony. There was a door to the left that I assume was the bathroom. "This is all yours to enjoy. Ask me anything you need and I will get it for you. I want you to be comfortable here." Charles whispered in my ear. I felt a chill run down my spine. What exactly was he planning by keeping me here? Thankfully there was a knock at the door and Charles backed away from me. He went and opened the door. "Gavin! Perfect timing! Come in I want you to meet somebody." I was still standing in the bedroom so I couldn't see the main door but I suddenly smelled the most delicious smell. It smelled like the woods right after a rainfall mixed with warm vanilla. It was stirring me in a way I had never felt before. I walked out into the living room and saw Charles talking to a tall vampire. You could tell he was built with muscles because his shirt stretched tight around his biceps and chest. He had dark brown tousled hair and a sculpted beard. When he glanced over to me I saw the most striking blue eyes. I felt weak in the knees and a warm throbbing between my legs. Suddenly the wall in my mind crumbled down and Sheya growled in mind "Mate!"
