I could smell Pearl the moment she came into the dining hall, her scent became stronger the closer she came. Butterflies went crazy in my stomach, I somehow didn't know, what to do with my hands, all my anger from the meeting, left my body and was replaced with sorrow. 

You would think blowing off some of my anger by fighting all the warriors, that had anticipated in todays training, would have helped, but it only took her walking in the room, and here she was, my mate, and I couldn't even touch her. 

I heard someone call her name, I straighten to overlook the crowed, it was the chef with a plate of food for her. I haven't really talked to her yet, and I already don't want her to talk to other people, luckily it was a female chef, what would I have done if it was a male chef, what is going on with me. I covered med face with my hands. 

When I felt her coming closer, I looked up and we made eye contact, butterflies and tingles filled my body, I really want to touch her. But somehow I moved back from her hand, as she reached for my bruised eye. 

Touching would make the mate bond stronger, not something that according to her was a good idea, and I don't think her dad would approve.

"you think that is wise?" I mind linked her.

Her mom interrupted and eye contact was broken. I took a deep breath, didn't know I was holding it back. 

I gave her a half a smile, when she sat right across from me.

I haven't really paid must attention to the conversation at the table up till now. It was my dad and I and all of the White girls and their parents, the Alpha and Luna. Carole, Kyle and Shane was nowhere to be seen. 

I wasn't in the most talkative mood.

"can we talk?" I heard in mind link, She didn't look at me, just kept her focus on her food.

"I am really not in the mood to get rejected today" I said, running a hand trough my hair and scratching the back of my neck.

She looked up and straight into my eyes and linked "I would never, just meet me at the moon rock at midnight, we need to talk, please"  and then her eyes went back on her food.

I haven't even notice that my dad and Alpha Brandon and his Luna had left, and Gabby now was sitting next to me and Hadley was next to Pearl. I have no idea what they were talking about, so I just smile and shrugged.

Malina was left alone at the other end of the table, but she slowly got up, walk over and softly sat next to Gabby, all shy and blushed. She must be interested in me, since her effort of coming closer. I promised Alpha Brandon that I would give the girls a chance, but how could I, when the girl that I am fated to be with, and more interested in, is sitting right in front of me. 

She is not only my mate, but if I was to choose between those girls in a bar to talk to, Pearl would still be the one who had caught my eyes and gotten all of my attention.

I was in so deep thought, that I didn't even notice the guy walking up behind Pearl, before his one hand touched her shoulder and he had leaned in and whispered in her ear.

I stiffened and Roman growled deep in my throat, she heard, looked at me, made eye contact and smiled. She got up and excused herself from the table and left with the guy.

I had promised Alpha Brandon to make an effort, so I calmed down, stayed and talked with the girls.

I learned that Grabby, really did want to become Luna of the Pack, she didn't straight out tell me, but she had studied law, management and economy and was now in charge of the legal and financial part of the pack. A Luna would have to know the laws of the Pack and make sure they are followed and also the management part, it shows leadership. 

Hadley told med that she was a design and event planner. She loved fashion and parties. She apparently help their mother, the Luna, with the event planning in the pack. Mostly the full moon ceremonies, the biggest party of the month, the more mates to be mated, the bigger the event, and on Saturday, there was five couples to be mated, which meant a big party. 

Malena almost whispered, when I asked her, if she was in school or if she had a job. She told me, that she was working in the packs day care. She loved the small puppies there, but she was going to get her teaching degrees later this year. she cross here fingers with a smile. I couldn't help smile back. 

Malena was nice, I couldn't help likening her. I felt bad for her, being so shy, and with so many sisters, she would never get a chance to meet a guy with those sisters around, unless she is somehow spotted by her mate. Gabby and Hadley had interrupted her so many times now, but I kept my focus on her and waited patiently for her to get a chance to talk.

Most of the conversation afterwards went between Hadley and Gabby, I didn't say much and Malena didn't either.

I was in my own thoughts when I hear Pearls voice "help me please" in mind link.

I jump up and ran out the dining hall, through the doors I shifted and ran as fast as I could to the moon rock, in the distance I could hear the alarms had already gone off from the motion sensors.
