Chapter 5: Post break up

"Just take a look at you in that cute smile" Jeremy teased me while patting me on the head
"Haha, c'mon what else do you want me to do ?)
"You're heartless though"
"How?"
"So u are happy that a couple broke up "

"Hey boys why are u guys f**king each other? (Jennifer cut in as she approached our seat) hello handsome
"Hi " I reply shyly
"I gave you my number but u still couldn't call me. Must I do everything myself" Jennifer said while rubbing my lower lips with her thumb and biting her lips too like she was going to attack me with a kiss.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know u wanted me to call (my phone vibrates)"
"Well don't worry I sent you a 7k airtime so u'll call me tonight"
I checked my phone and it was really true, Jennifer sent me a 7k worth airtime.
" Thanks Jennifer but u really didn't need to do that, I would have called u today"
"Don't worry it's nothing. Besides I need to take care of my boo. I need you to get used to my kindness and expect stuffs like that often " Jennifer said and kissed me
"Dude I told u. Benefits" Jeremy whispered to me.
"f**k u" I whispered back to him.
"Well guess what handsome?"
"What?"
"Following the new development, my seat is just right in front of you"
"When was the class rearranged?"
"Yesterday night. Our form teacher announced it in the group chat" Jeremy replied.
As we were discussing Dera came in. She didn't look bright, she was kinda moody. She just walked straight and sat in front of us beside Jeremy and bent down.
"Oh fam, I forgot to tell u, ur crush's new seat is right in front of u" Jeremy whispered.
After a while of discussion, gradually we all got busy with our phones.
We had mathematics but the teacher was absent.
I logged in on w******p and saw a message from Dera and I opened it "SORRY I DIDN'T CALL YESTERDAY" it read.
Since she was online, I texted her back. " IT'S OKAY"
After a while she replied.
"WE CAN STILL MAKE IT TODAY RIGHT?"
"YEA IT DEPENDS ON UR SCHEDULE" I texted back
"GREAT!!! AFTER MATHS WE HAVE 3 STRAIGHT FREE PERIODS BEFORE BREAK. THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH TIME RIGHT?"
"YEA MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME"
"HOW ABOUT U ALWAYS USE OUR FREE PERIODS TO TUTOR ME. WOULD THAT BE CONVENIENT FOR U?"
"YEA"
"OK" she texted
"HEY?"I texted, remembering something
"WHAT"
"YOU GOT A LAPTOP RIGHT?" I asked
"YEA, Y?"
"YEA U WILL NEED IT"
"THANK GOD I ALWAYS COME WITH IT"
"SEE U THEN"
"AIIT. SEE U IN THE COMPUTER LAB?" she said
"YEA RIGHT"
"OK". she texted finally ending the convo.
After the period for maths elapsed, I allowed Dera to leave first before I joined suit.
When I went into the computer lab, Dera had already secured a some seats for me and had already brought out her apple laptop.
I sat down next to her and brought out my new windows 10 HP laptop too.
She didn't have a Q-BASIC program in her laptop so I installed it for her from the apple store in her system.
I kick started the tuition session with some introductory talks like letting her have a clear picture on what a program really was, the uses and meaning of the Q-BASIC and some key words often used in programming and Q-BASIC.
Before the three free periods elapsed, we had already covered a great deal in programming and we both left to the cafeteria.
After I was dished my food I secured my self a free table.
I was almost about eating my food before Dera dropped her tray in front of me and asked if she could join me on my table and I gladly let her.
In less than few minutes Jennifer and Jeremy came and joined us.
"So where did u guys go to?" Jennifer asked suddenly while pointing her fork at me
"Well Buchi here is tutoring me on programming" Dera answered kinda rudely and Jeremy smiled
"Wow that's great to hear. Can I join?" Jennifer asked me
"Well yeah of course, if Dera doesn't have a problem with it" I answered shyly.
"Do u?" Jennifer asked Dera
"No"
It was really a long day in school
After school was over, I boarded a cab and went home straight.
When I got home, Hosea was already back and was ironing my clothes and his
"Hey Hosea, thanks for ironing my clothes"
"I got u covered kid"
"Oh I'm famished. What did you prepare?
" Just fried plantains and beans."
"Yummy!!!"
"Did u take a cab home?"
"Yes "
"Should I get u a bike?"
"I would really appreciate as long as it isn't a regular bike."
"A triumph bike would do right?"
"Yes I would love that"
"Ok I'll see what I can do"
I went straight to my room and undressed and tidied my stuff then came down and had lunch and then went back to my room to have my bath.
After I was done bathing, I did my assignment and began to blog some stuff on my page.
When I was done I called Jennifer so she wouldn't get mad at me.
After I was through with the call , I opened my mobile data and a w******p message from Dera popped in
"HEY THANKS FOR TODAY" I smiled and replied
"IT'S NOTHING"
"HEY THE ASSIGNMENT YOU GAVE ME WAS WAY TOO EASY "
"LOL, CALM DOWN. LET'S TAKE THINGS SLOW"
"OK..BUT UMM..."
"WHAT?"
"CAN I ASK YOU SOMETHING?"
"SURE"
"ARE U DATING JENNIFER?"
"NOT REALLY, Y?"
"NOTHING JUST WANTED TO KNOW"
"AIIT BUT CAN I ASK U SOMETHING TOO?"
"GO ON"
"YOU'RE DATING HENRY RIGHT?" Dera was silent for some seconds before she replied.
"I USED TO"
"USED TO? WHAT HAPPENED?"
"I BROKE UP WITH HIM"
"OOHHH OK"
"Y DID U ASK"
"NOTHING"
"AIIT, SEE U TOMORROW?"
"YEA SEE U TOMORROW"
"BYE".
After chatting with Dera, I continued to blog some stuff on my page.
DERA'S POV
Hmm Buchi seems like a nice kid though .
I snapped outta my trance when I got a text from my mom telling me to come downstairs for dinner and I hurried down.
Mom was already dishing out her meal from the buffet in the dining hall.
"Dera?"
"Yes Mom?"
"What's this news I'm hearing that you broke up with Henry".
"Mom? "
"Don't mom me. Are u stupid? Y the hell did u break up with him. After planning on how u would marry Henry and get a green card and easily get a job in the states and u f*****g broke up with him and ruined my plans"
"Mom, I don't even love him and I don't want to be with whom I don't love"
"Shut up !!! What the heck do u know about love! Love my foot. Girl don't let this house deceive you or your late dad's wealth. Remember they won't last forever. If u know what's good for you go and fix ur relationship with Henry tomorrow."
"U know what? f**k u mom...if u want Henry that much, then u go and marry him. " I blurted out carelessly and my mom landed a heavy slap on my face.
