The moon shone so bright that all the earth's lies had their shadow cast just beside them. It was too bright that one could count the number of trees that grew by the roadside. The gentle breeze of Italy kept the trees dancing to the drumbeat of nature as they created hissing sounds rhythmically. A car headlight could be seen as it was approaching at high speed. The car speed was beyond normal and the roadway noise was too loud. Just in a twinkle of an eye, the car passed across, revealing Damon as he was alone in the car. His destinations were traced as he passed through a wide gate and halted in a well-decorated compound. The guards were greeting him as he came out of his car, but he cared not to return the greetings, rather he hurried into the mansion that was right before him. Considering the look on his face, one could easily spot that there's danger.
“Here you are, my son. You're welcome”
Said an old that was sitting comfortably on a sofa kept on the pavement as he saw Damon approaching with an expressionless face.
“Greetings, Dad,” Damon muttered while trying to be civil. The twilight light that shone from the wallpaper behind the old man revealed that Damon's face didn't cooperate with his words. The old man only nodded his head in acceptance of the pleasantries.
As he approached the old man, he took an empty glass from the table in front of the old man and filled it with red wine. The old man's glass could be seen as it was half filled with the same color as with ne.
“How's a business, my son”
The old man muttered while carrying his glass of wine close to his most to take a sip.
“Not bad, sir”
Damon replied blatantly.
“Wait a minute, why put on that face? Is everything ok with you?”
Damon cared not to reply to the old man, rather he grabbed a chair that was a bit far from the old man. He dragged it closer to the ma as he settled down on it. He brought out a parcel of cigarettes and then lit one.
“Go get me mine inside my room”
The old man commanded him authoritatively though with a friendly tone.
At bus command, Damon stood up and walked into the house through a door that was right beside the old man. In a few minutes, he arrived with a parcel of cigarettes and a lighter. He waited not to be told before he brought out a stroke of cigarette, left the remaining ones on the table, then lit it and handed it over to his father.
“Here's it Father”
He said humbly.
“Thank you, my son.” The old man whispered as he collected the cigarette. Damon waited for him until he exhaled a mouthful of smoke before he continued.
“Father, I'm here to discuss your last visit to my house”
“Is there anything more to discuss? I don't think”
The old man retorted while showing no emotion attached to his response.
“Yeah! There is a lot to discuss. Cos, I didn't expect what you did while in my house.”
The old man chuckled and sipped his drink once again.
“What do you mean, son? Am I supposed to fold my hands and watch you damage a sealed agreement? Besides, so what do you want to say, let me hear you out.” He said, then focused his attention on Damon's face.
“Know you want the best for me," Damon said. “But I also have to make my choice. I'm not marrying Danciana…”
“You need to ask some questions and get some facts gummed to your head before calling it a decision.
