Getting Ready

The wooden sword was destroyed, due to this, the battlefield was drowned into complete silence and shock. No one said anything, they just kept looking at the spot where the wooden sword used to be.
"It was just a normal wooden sword," said someone with a shock and trembling voice, one could tell that just by listening to this voice, the owner was extremely upset to the point of pissing off and dying on the spot.
The cultivators and large powers all stood there gazing at the spot of the sword, roaring sounds filling their minds. This battle over a fake sword really got their blood's boiling and also making them feel a little embarrassed. Jia Lin was in the crowd smiling his face off while watching a good show play out, he was surrounded by hundreds of cultivators with many different kinds of cultivation bases, some being at the sixth to the ninth level of the Saint Realm or above.
"The Qi in this Era is much stronger, I could really get used to this" Jia Lin thought to himself while still observing the events that were taking place. He was somewhat excited when he thought about practicing cultivation all over again, maybe to him, this was a great opportunity to make it even feather than were he last stopped in his cultivation.
"With all my years of knowledge, I will rebuild my foundation from the bottom up and make it much more powerful," he thought to himself
The commotion over the wooden sword died down after the great powers came to the conclusion that the sword was actually fake and that nothing else out of the ordinary came through the missive golden door. They each left, returning to their own factions, Sects, and Clans with a sad face, it could be seen how much they really put into getting here and the thunderous desire they had when thinking about the wooden sword.
"hey friend, wasn't this a good show haha"
Jia Lin was just about to turn and leave when a young man about the same age as he called out to him. He was somewhat surprised by this young man, he was wearing a loose shirt and pants and he sported an average body build. His cultivation was at the fourth level of the Saint Realm and could be seen that his talents were fairly good
"I wouldn't say that, I really wanted to see who would end up getting that awesome treasure you know" chuckled Jia Lin with a displeased look in his eyes.
"Haha, that's no treasure, that was just a fake wooden sword, how could you not have seen that" you man also chuckled while looking at Jia Lin feeling that he was well informed.
"Oh, is that so," said Jia Lin while waving his hands in front of him,
"Well I don't really blame you for not knowing, after all, you're only at the third saint level after all. Wait until you breakthrough then everything will be clear to you haha" the young man standing in front of Jia Lin once again as he shared some of his information with him and also feeling quite pleased with himself once more as he did.
"What's your name friend," the young man asked, one could see that this young man was really a friendly person and liked to make new friends along the way, but in this world, one should know that they shouldn't be too friendly towards strangers or the worse could occur. Jia Lin didn't think anything of the youth before, so with a small smile he replied
"I'm called Jia Lin and you", "I'm called Fen Gou, nice to meet you, Jia Lin," the youth said while smiling
After the two youths exchanged names, they continued to talk for a while as they walked towards the exit of the large forest. They talked about many things such as the power system of the great powers and also learned about the various things that were hiding inside the forest, such as profound beasts, herbs, and the likes. The two youths, though they had just met seemed to have known each other for a very long time, the sun was moving down behind the clouds and quickly night fell.
"I'm new to these parts, I also don't really have any money on me either" Jia Lin was in a somewhat embarrassing position, he had just arrived here and he was without money or resources to aid him in his cultivation, not to mention food.
"Haha don't worry brother Jia, my home is only a few miles away from here. If we make it in time, we can catch some goodies in the town market place, it's all on me"
The two youths chat and laughed none stop, after about three hours of walking, a large city came into Jia Lin's view. The city was surrounded by high walls made out of both wood and steel, the walls were at on height of thirty meters and its gate was made out of wood. Patrolling city guards could be seen walking to and from on the high walls, the security system was somewhat tight at this time of the night.
After another half on hour of walking, Jia Lin and Fen Gou approached the city gates with slow steps, after arriving within a few meters of the gates, they were stopped by one of the security guards.
"Held it, state you're business inside the city" shouted the guard
Jia Lin paused in his tracks, his face clam as he looked towards Fen Gou, waiting on him to take him through. "I am Fen Gou Of the Fen Clan, returning from the mystic forest" F
en Gou had a proud smile on his face when he was mentioning his clan's name in front of the guards, this showed that his clan was a well-known clan within the city walls.
"Open the gates" shouted the guard while giving way to the both of them, "Mystic forest" murmured Jia Lin as he walked through the gates of the city.
After entering the city, Jia Lin's mind was a buzz, the city was jam-packed with all kinds of people, the many streets were filled to the brim with passers-by. He was somewhat shocked but also somewhat excited as well, on both sides of the streets could be seen shops and stands, selling various things, such as pills, herbs, clothes, weapons, and many other useful things. "Brother Jia, this is the city of Moe Lin, it is the third-largest city in these parts and is the cheapest place to buy the things you need"
"You don't need to worry about money, I got it covered" smiled Fen Gou as he turned down a street located to the far West direction. It was now night time and Jia Lin was feeling extremely tired due to him traveling through time, as of this moment his body was extremely weak and he needed to get some rest real quick. The moon hangs high in the skies, illuminating the whole city, large buildings, parks, and Pavilions could be seen far off in the distance, the city was beautiful with most of the buildings being made out of jade and limestones.
After Fen Gou and Jia Lin walked for a couple more minutes, they arrived at a large mansion that was situated at the far edge of the city. Decorated with jade dragons, the mansion was massive and looked like the owner was a wealthy noble, the sight of this mansion somewhat surprised Jia Lin but his facial expression still remained calm and collected.
"This is my Fen clan mansion, though we are just a small clan, we are still respected in these parts"
"Just a small clan, but with a mansion like this, I wonder what the large Clans would be like" thought Jia Lin with a weary smile. Fen Gou was a friendly person and to Jia Lin, he was somewhat too friendly so just to be on the safe side, he always kept his guard up.
"Come, brother Jia, let's go in, I'm sure you will love it inside"
Fen Gou chuckled again feeling pleased with himself, the front yard of the mansion was glorious, it had tall trees lined at both sides with well-cut grass. A large pond was also at the back of the mansion, this Jia Lin learned from Fen Gou, the front door of the mansion was guarded by two guards, their auras at the third level of the Saint realm.
"Greetings young master, you're father has been asking for you," said the two guards as they proceeded to open the front doors. "Haha, I'll go see him right away" replied Fen Gou while turning to face Jia Lin,
"Brother Jia I have to go, for now, make you're self feel at home, just ask one of the maidservants to give you a room and we'll talk later OK" after saying that, Fen Gou took off without even waiting to hear what Jia Lin had to say.
Jia Lin shook his head while murmuring "Way too friendly"
