"My name is Raven, not gorgeous," she says as she stands up putting her papers in her briefcase. "Mr. Collins, it was nice to meet you. I'm sure I'll be seeing you again soon. Hopefully alone," she stresses that last word before getting up and walking out. "What the f***k is up with that b.itch? She ran out of here like there was a fire." Thor says, then throws me a death glare when I burst out laughing. "What is so f.ucking funny?" "Pretty boy finally found a girl that doesn't fall on her knees and beg him to be f.ucked, it's funny that's all." It's hilarious, and the first time I've laughed since all this s.hit started. "Who wants to f***k an ice princess anyway? She'd probably just lie there like a cold fish." "Mmhmm, you trying to convince me or yourself?" I ask him with my eyebrow raised. "f***k off." There's a knock on the door and Jimmy, pokes his head in. "Luke, shift change is coming up, you're going to have to get out of here." "Alright man, give me one more minute," Thor tells him. "Just one," he says before closing the door behind him. "We'll have you out of here soon Prez." He tells me, sincerity filling his voice. "And for the record, I don't like this f.ucking Thomas guy. I think he could have tried harder to keep you out of here, or at least make sure you were closer to us. And this new chick, what's with that?" "He's supposed to be the best," I tell him nonchalantly. "I was p.issed off about being here too but right now, this firm is our only hope. And he brought on another lawyer, that's got to count for something right?" "Alright, I'll be keeping my ear to the ground about him. And I meant what I said, we'll have you our of here soon." "I know you will brother, you keeping everyone in line?" "Not that anyone needs it, but yeah. We're all on high alert, and no one is stupid enough to do anything that could blow back on you right now." "Alright, now get out of here, and try not to be too disappointed that your charms are no longer working." He flips me off and walks out about ten seconds before a new guard comes in to get me. It must be the shift change guy. "Let's go a.sshole, back to your cell." He tries to yank me up by the collar of my jumpsuit, but I don't budge. I just turn and look at him. "I said let's go," he tells me again, but there's a tremble in his voice that wasn't there before. I smile and stand up quickly, making him jump back. I snort. What a f.ucking pansy. He brings me back to my cell and pushes me inside, slamming the door shut before I can say or do anything else. "I don't even know why they let you out of this cage. They need to keep you all locked up like the animals you are." "Huh, found your balls now that there's a cell door between us?" I step closer, "but I won't always be in here." I give him a wink, then turn back to my cot and lie down. Not much else to do when you're locked the f***k up. A couple hours later I look up when there's a banging on my cell. Another f.ucking guard. "Prisoner," he says loudly. "Rec time," he unlocks my cell and motions for me to walk in front of him. I'm walking slowly and almost stop when I hear him whisper. "You need to watch your back." "The f***k you say to me?" "Turn back around," he says loudly, then lowers his voice again. "Jimmy's off but he asked me to tell you to watch your back. Said some guys are arriving tomorrow that would give you a hard time." I stop when we get to the yard, but he pushes me forward, albeit softly, but still. "You have to keep walking, I'm risking a lot passing on this message, so just go along with it." "Yeah, fine, whatever. Thanks." He nods, then walks to stand across the yard. f***k, I take a seat and start working out, wondering who exactly is coming here. I suppose it doesn't really matter, if they got transferred in, they'll have enough connections to do what they want before they're stopped. And they likely want to f.ucking k.ill me, I get back to my cell and start planning, I'm going to need to be on high alert. "Mr. Collins," I look up when I hear my name called and can admit I'm mildly surprised to see the Captain again. "Cap, to what do I owe this pleasure?" "Looks you've got some friends in high places." "What?" "We got a call from the warden, you are being taken down to solitary." "Not sure how that means I've got friends in high places, because to me, that sounds like a pretty s.hitty deal. Especially when I haven't caused any trouble." "You're being put in solitary because of a credible threat against you. Normally we wouldn't pay attention to this kind of thing, an anonymous, unverified threat. But like I said, high places. Apparently your lawyer is a real bulldog." Well s.hit, at least he's good for something. "And I hear she's a smoke show too, lucky b.astard." He must be talking about that new woman he brought with him. "Well, come on." He unlocks my cell and leads me downstairs. I'm not sure why he's doing this kind of scut work, but f***k it. "Your new accommodations," he motions into the solitary cell. "And while you're in here, I would like to ask you to think about how your lawyer could have gotten this information. It would go a long way to putting you in my good graces if you could find that out for me." Ah, there it is. This f.ucker must be dumber than he looks if he thinks I'd rat on someone looking out for me. I just fold my arms over my chest and nod. I'm not sure this is actually better than facing off against a bunch of a.ssholes that want to k.ill me. In fact I'm pretty sure I'd prefer a good fight to being locked up in here with nothing to do. Maybe I can at least get a little sleep. "What the f***k?" I roar, when someone slaps me in the face. "Jesus Christ," Jimmy exclaims. "You always sleep like you're in a coma?! I thought you were f.ucking dead man, I've been trying to wake you up for like two minutes." "So you f.ucking slap me?" I ask bewildered about what he's doing in here. "Yeah, are you missing the part where I thought you were dead." He looks behind him, then leans closer and starts to whisper, "it could have been a less friendly guard, even though you're in solitary it doesn't mean you can let your guard down." "I didn't mean to," I yawn as I sit up and stretch. "It's so f.ucking quiet and dark though, I must have just completely passed out." "Okay, well you need to get up and get ready. Your hot shot lawyer managed to get you a hearing this afternoon for bail. It's a bit of a drive so you have to leave in ten minutes. I'll bring you to the showers, but I can't go with you. They'll bus you down, I'm not friendly with the guards that will be with you, so watch your back okay?" "Yeah, I got it. Thanks Jimmy."
