Chapter 8 Clueless

Scarlett POV. I woke up in a foreign room with a headache. "Dang it! What happened last night? Did I drink too much? I can't remember anything..." I complain about not remembering anything as I lean back at the bed's headboard. The memories I had last night are vague... After standing and stopping the visitor in their ill manner, everything turns blank. "Perhaps Uncle Marcos wasn't angry about what happened since I'm still breathing," I murmured while getting up from bed. "Well, good morning, my dear," it was Esmeralda. Where did she come from? Why didn't I hear the door open? I asked, full of astonishment as I looked at Esmeralda's otherworldly beauty. But then again... I remove my thought since this thing, appearing out of nowhere, is normal for a vampire. Perhaps Esmeralda and the other vampires don't know how to knock or use the door. Except for butler Mark— he is the only person in this castle who will use the door properly to give me a place of privacy. "You did a remarkable thing last night," Esmeralda walked over with a vast smile on her face. "Lady Esmeralda, I'm sorry, but my memory for the last time is uncertain... I don't remember everything," I responded, full of concern. "Well, let's talk about it in front of a meal. I know you're already hungry," Esmeralda responds as she yanks on my arms and guides me in my walk. Seeing Lady Esmeralda's adoration towards me, I became complacent. "By the way, what happened in this room? Did I do that? I'm sorry if I did that..." Esmeralda looked at the side of the room I was looking at. "Oh, don't mind the coach ... You didn't destroy anything," she responds, and pulls me into the closet at the side of the room. I couldn't help but admire the clothes in front of me. It was far from the garments that were in my cabinet. "Everything in this closet is remarkable!" I exclaimed while my eyes twinkled, looking at the garment. "You can choose what you want to wear since I'm in a good mood..." Esmeralda asserts, making me happy. "Really? I can wear anything I want?" I no longer restrained myself from touching the apparel. The whole closet is as big as my room, so I can't help but be amazed. "Of course, you are part of my family ... My property is also yours ..." Esmeralda murmured as she watched me. After choosing clothes, Esmeralda gave me time to take a bath. "What the heck? Is this blood?" I asked, seeing myself in the mirror of the bathroom. The corner of my lips and neck had dried blood, and I didn't know where it came from. "No! I didn't kill anybody last night!" I exclaimed while rubbing my body with my palm as the water flowed. ...Then, out of nowhere, the face of a distinguished man entered my memory. ( Your smell is so sweet... I can't taste you...) Oh my god! Why does this scene flash into my mind? Did I say that? "Who is that guy?" I muttered, figuring out the face of the man from last night. —I was disappointed because I ended up taking a bath, but the face of the man with the sweet scent remained vague to me. "I'll ask Esmeralda... Surely she will tell me everything," I uttered to myself while putting on the dress given by Esmeralda. —— The servant took me to a different dining room from last night. Although my memory is still unclear, I remember the room since it was spacious and luxurious. "Scarlett, come... Quick! I made this meal extra special for you..." Esmeralda mumbled with a broad smile on her face. "Really? I'm excited about tasting it...Thank you," I answered as I sat in front of Esmeralda. However, I've been sitting for a minute and my mind is still occupied by what happened last night... So I stared at the food in front of me; then I turned to Esmeralda, whose only thing in front of her was a glass of blood. "About last night ... There's a man with a sweet scent... but I don't remember his name," I uttered. Esmeralda stared at me as her smile faded. "Are you talking about Alejandro?" She responded. "Alejandro? Is that his name?" I asked. I couldn't look at Esmeralda because of embarrassment, so I focused my eyes on the food. "Anyway, do you know what happened to your butler? His still missing?" Esmeralda didn't want to talk about Alejandro, so she made a new topic. "Butler Mark? Maybe he's on the other side of the castle. Both of us are not allowed to come to this side of the castle, remember?" I responded and started to chew the food in my mouth. "I'm sorry about that ... My father is only concerned about you; remember that you are human, and everyone here is a vampire," Esmeralda explained as she zipped the warm blood into her glass. I smiled sweetly at Esmeralda. "For the past year, I have relished my years on the other side of the castle. So no worries, I did not plant any hatred towards my father's family," I affirmed and gave her an assuring smile. "Good that you understand. Anyway, you're at the right age, and clearly, you can protect yourself, so from now on, you will live with us." Esmeralda tossed the blood in her glass and continued, "By the way, my wedding is approaching... as my one and only cousin, I wanted you to be my maid of honor. You can also help me with the preparation..." I'm shaking... From childhood, it stuck in my mind that my father's family didn't like me ... I didn't expect that, after so many years, I would feel loved. "Thank you, Esmeralda ... Now I can say I'm not alone and have a family." the tears that quickly streamed down my eyes were a sign of joy. ---- A few days pass, and Esmeralda remains good to me. Although Lord Marcos and Lady Elizabeth remain distant, it no longer matters. The only thing that matters is, I found a friend ... a family ... On Esmeralda's behalf,
