The music increased, bursting with a rhythmic sensation, and the party increased into a sea of dancing bodies. My friends and I lost ourselves in the rhythm, our laughter and shouts mingling with the music.
"So, who's this new CEO?" I said, yelling above the din.
"They say the company's being handed over to some young guy," one friend replied, spinning to the beat.
"Interesting," I said, chuckling. "Young, huh?"
A friend chimed in, "And rumor has it, he's gorgeous and also the spitting image of his father, the founder."
My eyes sparkled with interest. "I think I might know him," I said, pretending to ponder.
My friend raised an eyebrow. "Save it, sweetheart. We all know you can't possibly know him." One of them replied.
I nodded and said, "Okay, let's make it interesting. If I know the new CEO, you'll cover my rent for next year."
My friends cheered as they said in unicorn. "Deal!"
We clinked cups, spilling wine on our clothes as we laughed.
As the music shifted, our shyness disappeared, our inner madness appeared, and we let loose, lost in the joy of the moment.
"Baby girl, we've got company," my friend whispered, nodding toward the approaching figure.
"Didn't we agree no guys would join us?" I asked, scanning our circle.
"None of us invited him," my friend replied, "but he's gorgeous and dripping in luxury."
My eyes sparkled. "Rich, I love the sound of that. Means our drinks are covered." I said.
As the man approached, his smile infectious, we returned it. "Hello, ladies. May I join you? I'm interested in one of you," he said, his voice low and smooth.
"I'll let you in on a secret," I said, smiling slyly. "To get one of us, you'll need to cover our bills."
He chuckled and said, "No problem."
"You should know we chose the expensive drinks," I whispered. "Don't make a scene."
He laughed and said, "I could buy the whole club if I wanted."
Interesting, I asked "So, which one of us catches your eye?"
My gaze stayed on his expensive watch.
"I’m already talking to her," Caden said, his smile directly aimed at me.
I felt like I was drowning in the depths of his eyes.
"Hi, I'm Talia", I managed to say, extending my hand.
His handshake was firm, his touch sending sparks through my body.
"Talia," he repeated, his voice low and smooth. "I'm Caden".
As we shook hands, I couldn't tear my gaze off him. "So Talia," Caden said, releasing my hand but not my looks. "What brings you here tonight?"
I shrugged, feeling a flutter in my chest. "Just celebrating with my friends," I replied.
Caden nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Nice meeting you," he said.
His words were laced with sincerity, making my heart skip a beat. We chatted effortlessly, sharing secrets and dreams. As the night wore on, the music intensified. We danced, our bodies swaying to the rhythm. As we danced, Caden's expensive cologne wafted through the air, enticing me.
The sweet scent of success.
I couldn't help but notice his tailored shirt, perfectly accentuating his broad shoulders and muscular physique.
Every stitch screamed luxury. His Rolex gleamed in the dim light, a symbol of wealth and status. I felt a surge of attraction, drawn to his power and prestige.
"I love this song," I shouted above the music.
Caden grinned, his piercing eyes sparkling like diamonds. We moved closer, our bodies aligning. The music intensified, and we lost ourselves in the beat. I couldn't help but admire Caden's confident moves.
He exuded wealth and authority. His eyes locked into mine and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
As the song ended, we slowed to a stop. Caden's eyes met mine. For a moment, I thought I saw interest. But it was probably just my imagination.
As the night wore on, my friends began to tire.
"Time for us to call it a night, we're exhausted," they said.
I looked at Caden, "I'll stay a little longer," I said.
My friends raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?" They asked.
I nodded.
Caden smiled. "I'll make sure she's safe," he said.
My friends exchanged skeptical looks. "Okay, but be careful," they warned.
I nodded "Another drink?" Caden suggested after they'd left.
I nodded, eager to keep the night going. We made our way to the bar. As we sipped our drinks, the crowd grew thicker. Caden's arm brushed against mine. I felt a flutter in my chest.
We chatted and laughed. The music shifted. We danced again.
This time, slower. Our bodies swayed together. I couldn't help but notice how well-defined his chest was. Caden's standards made my heart race. I imagined what it would be like to be with someone like him.
"I'll be right back," Caden said, smiling.
He walked over to his group of friends, who were laughing and chatting near the bar. Caden leaned in, whispering something to his friend's ears.
His friend nodded, raising an eyebrow, Caden looked back at me, his eyes locking into mine for a brief moment.
He smiled, then turned back to his friend's. "Later guys," he said aloud.
His friends nodded, clapping their backs. Caden returned to me, his eyes sparkling. As the night wore on, the drinks kept flowing.
I laughed, uncontrollably, and danced with Caden. My inhibitions faded with each sip. The music blurred together.
I stumbled, my heels wobbling. Caden's strong arms caught me.
"Whoa, easy," he whispered.
His warm breath was against my ear. "I've got you," he said.
I gazed up at him, my vision blurry. His face spun above me." Too much to drink," I said.
Caden smiled. "Let's get you some water," he suggested.
But I waved my hand. "I'm fine," I lied.
Caden's eyes narrowed at the corners. "You're adorable when you're drunk," he whispered.
I blushed, feeling lightheaded. Caden's arms tightened around me.
"Time to get you home," he said.
I nodded, my head bobbing. As he lifted me into his arms. I felt weightless. Safe. His chest pressed against mine. Our faces were inches apart.
"Thanks, Caden," I whispered.
"My pleasure, Talia," he replied and carried me out of the clubhouse.
But there was no car around, as we were lonely on a dangerous-looking road.
