Before it all started
Chapter 1
It was late and only a few people were seen on the streets, but it was normal for Victoria since she had done a lot of night shifts and this wasn't new to her.
Victoria was the daughter of an ex-convict, her mom abandoned her when she was three, leaving her with her with her father who was a drug addict, he made a her life a living hell spending all his money on drugs so she learned how to fend for herself at an early age, doing all kinds of jobs, so she had been doing night shifts for forever and she never expected that tonight was going to change her life forever.
As she strolled down the road she hummed her favorite song, You are the reason by Calum Scott, and she thought of the words of the song and just wondered if she could ever find someone who would love her without holding back.
It's not until she feels someone behind her that she realizes that the road is deserted, she quickly turns around but there's no one there but she still feels something creepy in the shadows and so she starts to quicken her pace, and just as she gets to a dark alley someone grabs her hand roughly, covers her mouth before she can make a sound, she struggles with him but to no avail he hits her till she can barely move, and once he sees she can't make any attempt to escape he moves to her bag and quickly searches it, and when he finds what he's looking for a grin forms on his face and he pulls out the cash in the bag and that's when Victoria snapped, he wanted to take her money, the money she had worked soo hard to earn, she couldn't just lie there and let him take it so with all the strength she had in her she tried to grab the the money back but he swiftly kept it away, put it in his pocket and started laughing, "you really don't know when to stop, do you" and with a look of disdain he continued, "you know, I didn't want to hurt you but I don't trust that you won't talk to the cops about our little encounter so you leave me with no choice" and with that he swiftly took out a knife from his back and with one strike he thrust it deeply into her stomach, staring straight into her eyes, he has this evil grin on his face and he says, Don't worry too much I will put your money to good use.
Victoria just couldn't believe that this was it, she was actually going to die like this, her whole life she was never once truly happy, then she felt a hot liquid from her eyes, she was crying as she stared up her eyes rested on the moon which shone beautifully and wondered if her life was worth it, and there she promised herself that if she ever got the chance to live again she would live it to the fullest with no regrets and before she knew it the sharp pain in her body seized her to the extent that she couldn't even get a mouthful of air in her lungs she knew it was time and this was goodbye.
THE NEXT DAY
The morning was beautiful and the birds accompanied it with melodious tunes, the city was bustling with people who needed to earn a living.
In a beautiful mansion, Victoria opened her eyes and breathed sharply, she immediately got confused because her surrounding wasn't familiar, the sky she was seeing had turned to a beautiful ceiling with very expensive chandelier, then it dawned on her, her wound, the pain , she wasn't feeling it anymore, was she dead, was this heaven, she sat up and checked where she had been stabbed and her skin was Soo clear and perfect as if it had not been pierced the night before, she was getting more and more surprised by the minute, the soft sheets she was on, it felt Soo soft she had spent her whole life on hard mattresses and it felt Soo good she passed her fingers over it and she knew it was definitely an expensive bed and her perfectly manicured fingers did not go unoticed her skin looked white and delicate, she wondered what was going on. she decided to look around the room and explore, everything in the room looked pretty and expensive, then something caught her eye, a painting of a woman was on the wall and it felt familiar but she just couldn't remember where she had seen it as she squinted her eyes in an attempt to recall her eyes fell on a mirror which had been designed to fit the interior decor of the room and she couldn't believe what she saw, her face was different, she literally a different person, she was the woman in the painting.
As she studied her new self it dawned on her "Lana Preston" she looked exactly like Lana Preston .
