By the time Lana had gotten to the venue she was late, she wanted to go inside hand in hand with Derrick but she was Late Soo she wanted to surprise him instead.

"Here we are"

Mel helped Lana out of the car, she didn't intend to come but Lana insisted that she needed her as a friend and also as her secretary, so here she was walking with Lana into the building.

The few people they saw stared in awe, mostly at Lana, she was famous and pretty so it was expected.

Upon entering, they met with people dressed to impress, tuxedos and gowns were everywhere. There was no doubt these people were the highest class in the country and it made Lana a little bit nervous since she had never really been to such parties before, when people started noticing her and staring and whispering she got a bit nervous and she felt her palms getting sweaty her vision became blurry,

"Lana everything is alright, relax"

Mel said noticing her distress.

Her voice was like a wake up call to Lana she quickly got a hold of herself, Mel had told her already that it's been a while since she had been to public gatherings so a few people would talk and gossip but knowing the reputation old Lana left she knew it wouldn't be that easy soo she came prepared.

From a corner in the hall Derrick stared at Lana with his hands in his pocket, he wondered why she was there since she hated attending social gatherings because people kept asking her about him.

It made him wonder if maybe she had really stopped hating him, he smiled at that thought, as he stared he couldn't help but admire her beauty, she had always been beautiful it was a charm that no one could take from her, he wished things weren't how they were but he couldn't change it, their marriage was arranged by their families, he had accepted the marriage thinking she would grow to love him but contrary to that her hate for him increased with time, she had proved it so many times and the little admiration he had for her diminished but now all of a sudden she claimed she had changed and she wanted things to work.

"Sir, Mr. Chen is here he wants to discuss the business deal before he leaves, his flight is in a few hours" Lucy interrupted his thoughts.

"Mmm, where is he?"

Lucy led him to Mr. Chen.

After a few introductions Lana spotted Derrick in the crowd talking to some men just before she could move to them she saw Lucy right too, standing next to him they both smiled as they talked to the other guy.

Lana thought it was nothing until, Lucy leaned and whispered something to Derrick, her lips Soo close to his ears and he nodded and smiled to whatever she said, they look straight at each other and Lana felt something in her heart, it felt like being stabbed in the heart a thousand times right in the same place,she didn't want to cry but she felt her eyes were filled with water to the brim.

When she first became Lana Preston she just wanted to win him over so that her life would be better than before but now as she stared at him with someone else, she knew she had fallen in love with him and she could never live without him she wanted to be the one by his side and it hurt her deeply to think he didn't feel the same.

"She knows you're here and she's doing to get you mad, don't fall for it."

Mel stared at them with her hand folded.

"Not for long" Lana said heading straight for them.

Immediately she got to them, she arm around Derrick's "Hey "

Derrick "........"

He was speechless, he just stared at her.

They stared at each other for sometime before Mr.Chen broke the silence "Mr.Preston"

"Am sorry Mr.Chen, this is Lana Preston, my wife, Lana this is Mr.Chen from, he owns one of the biggest real estate companies in Japan". Derrick introduced.

"I must say, she's really beautiful, you're lucky to wake up by such beauty" Mr.Chen complemented, he was really impressed.

After Mr.Chen left both Lana and Derrick went chatting with other businessmen, and every time Derrick introduced Lana as his wife her smile widened, she noticed other women's stare at her and Derrick and it made her happier, she felt like she was telling them indirectly to back off, there was one woman that kept staring not at Derrick but at her but she shrugged it off as nothing.

And the compliments from people made her feel really special something she had never felt before, she didn't want this moment to ever end.
