Miranda POV
We collided.
And when I saw it was Evelyn, I frowned.
“Another pester fly,” I said.
She huffed. “Aren’t you going to apologize for colliding with me?”
I raised a brow. “So what if I did?
I’m not apologizing.
What are you gonna do about it?”
She stared at me.
Didn’t respond.
This was unlike her.
Before, she would’ve started a fight.
Guess everyone knows about my "changes."
They’re all avoiding me now.
I shoved past her and walked out.
We were sworn enemies.
I heard her call out: “Ace!”
The way she said it...
She sounded excited.
I turned back.
She wasn’t there anymore.
She was with Ace.
Of course.
She was also one of the girls all over him.
Seriously, what do they see in him?
Is it just because he’s the future Alpha?
I watched her try to flatter him.
He only nodded.
“What a disgrace to sisterhood,” I muttered.
He said something to her.
Then they left together.
I rolled my eyes.
I wasn’t thinking straight.
I just say and do whatever my mind tells me to.
Without caring if it’s right or wrong.
Evelyn.
Daughter of the Beta of the Golden Wolf Pack.
She was always trying to start fights with me.
It started seven years ago.
I was ten.
She came to ask if we could be friends.
I rejected her.
My mum taught me not to befriend the wrong people.
I’d caught Evelyn bullying a little girl.
The girl refused to give her a toy that wasn’t hers.
From that day, I knew what she was.
A bully.
Ever since I refused her,
she tried to bully me too.
But I never gave in.
I walked to my classroom.
Sat down.
Pulled out my book and started solving questions.
Today, Jerry was the one who came late.
I noticed classmates staring at me.
Probably because of my conversation with Ace.
I ignored them.
I looked focused.
But I wasn’t.
With all these thoughts in my head,
there was no way I could focus.

*ACE POV*
Today was my first day at a new school.
I was excited.
Meet new people.
Make new friends.
The first school I’d ever attend in the Golden Wolf Pack.
When I got there, there was a huge crowd outside the gate.
I thought something serious was happening.
I didn’t expect they were waiting for _me_.
Among the crowd, my eyes caught Miranda.
I don’t know why,
but I felt excited to see her.
Maybe because she was the only familiar face.
“Miranda!” I called.
But her reply pissed me off.
I know we’re not on good terms.
But why does she always air our family business in public?
I regretted calling her.
Students kept pestering me.
Some wanted to get close.
Some wanted to be friends.
Some just wanted to curry favor.
I somehow squeezed through them to get inside.
I fled.
This morning, Dad asked if I wanted bodyguards.
I said no.
Now I realized how stupid that was.
I managed to get into the school,
but I didn’t know anyone.
Didn’t know where anything was.
I saw Miranda turn into a building.
So I followed her.
Watched her go to the school cupboard and take out books.
When she turned and saw me,
she looked surprised.
And shot me a questionable look.
I asked for directions to my class.
Her reply made me angry again.
I tried using the "brother and sister" thing.
Got called a bastard for it.
That word bites my skin.
In my old pack, before I knew I was Alpha Brian’s son,
people called me that all the time.
Now that I know who my dad is,
I show off a little.
It’s childish, I know.
But Miranda still calls me that.
I don’t know her problem.
Maybe she can’t accept that her dad had another kid.
I got fed up.
I used so much pride just to follow her here,
only to get insulted.
She walked away coldly.
Didn’t even direct me to my class.
The school was big.
I didn’t want to walk in circles.
I sighed in disappointment...
And then saw a girl coming my way.
Miranda turned back,
probably thinking I was still following her.
"But who was she anyway?
With or without her, I’d find my way," I told myself.
Both of them collided and exchanged words.
Miranda took the upper hand.
Left the girl speechless.
Then she shoved the girl aside and walked away.
I heard the girl call my name.
I was surprised.
She seemed excited to see me.
Her face was a bit familiar.
“Ace!” she called.
I raised a brow. “Excuse me, do I know you?”
She nodded. “Yeah.
I’ve been to your house a few times.
We’ve met, but never spoke.
I’m the Beta’s daughter.”
“Okay,” I said.
Since Miranda wasn’t helping,
I decided to ask her.
I didn’t like her.
She was acting too clingy.
Even though Miranda gave me the cold shoulder,
at least she was well-behaved.
This girl was the opposite.
But I needed help,
so I didn’t say it out loud.
Maybe she had a crush on me.
But why was she making it so obvious?
I know I’m handsome,
but I like girls who play hard to get.

Ace POV
Today I was resuming my new school and I was so excited because I was going to meet new people, get to know more people and then make new friends.
It will be the first school I ever attended in the Golden wolf pack.
When I got to the school, I saw so many students like me outside the school gate. I was surprised as to why there was a large crowd outside the school.
I thought something serious was going on. I didn't expect them to be actually waiting for me.
Among the crowd my eyes caught Miranda, I don’t know why but as soon as I saw her I was kind of excited.
Yeah, I was excited to see her .
Maybe because among the crowd she was the only one I was quite familiar with.
The rest of them were unfamiliar faces.
I called out on her. “Miranda!”
But her reply got me angry. Yeah I know we weren’t on good terms but still it was a private matter between the family. Why does she always have to let people know there was a dispute between the both of us.
I regret calling out to her. The students kept pestering me.
Some were trying to get close to me, others wanted to be friends with me while some were just trying to curry favour from me.
Somehow I had managed to squeeze myself in between the students to get inside.
I fled.
When I was coming to school today, my Dad the Alpha had asked me if I needed some body guards to go with me to school. I had turned him down without thinking much of it, but now I was realising how foolish I was.
Soon I manage to squeeze into the school, then I realise I actually didn’t know anyone or any place in the school.
I saw Miranda taking a turn into one of the buildings so I went after her, I watched her walk to the school cupboard, she started taking out some books.
When she turned and saw me, she was surprised and shot me a questionable look.
I told her I needed direction to find my class but her reply only made me angry again.
I tried using the Brother and sister relationship we had but I ended up being called a bastard.
The word bastard bites me on my skin whenever I am being called like that.
In my former pack back then when I didn’t know I was Alpha Brian son , people usually mock me and called me a bastard.
But ever since I knew who my father was, I know but this is childish but I always show off.
Even though Miranda still calls me that, I don’t know what her problem is, perhaps she can’t accept the fact her Dad had another kid.
Since she wasn’t showing me face, I got fed up. I know how much of my pride I had used by just following her here only to get insulted.
She walked away coldly, not even bothering to even maybe direct me to my class.
The school was quite big. I didn't want to start walking in circles, that was why I needed direction.
I sighed in disappointment when I saw she was walking away but then I saw a girl coming my way.
Miranda turned to look back at me, maybe she thought I was still tailing her.
"But who was she anyways, with or without her I was still going to find my way in this building .” I say to myself .
Both she and the girl both collide and they exchange words at each other, but Miranda takes the upper hand leaving the girl speechless.
I watched as she pushed the girl aside before walking away, I heard the girl call my name and I was quite surprised..
She seemed excited to see me, I found her face a bit familiar but couldn’t place where I had seen her before.
“Ace!” She called out excitedly.
I raise my browns. “Excuse me, do I know you.”
She nodded in response. “Yeah, I've been to your house quite a few times and we
have met but we didn’t speak to each other, I'm the Beta daughter.”
“Okay “ I said.
Since Miranda wasn't of help to me I decided to ask her for help.
I didn’t like her because she was acting too clumsy, even though Miranda was giving me the cold shoulder. At least she was well behaved but this girl here was the complete opposite.
But since I needed her help I didn’t say it out loud.
Maybe she had a crush on me, but why was she making it so obvious? I know I'm a handsome guy but still I like girls who play hard to get.
