Episode 1: unexpected collision
Sophia Collins rushed through the rain-soaked streets, dodging umbrellas and briefcases. Late for a job interview, her nerves were already frayed. The sleek skyscrapers of downtown Manhattan blurred together as she hastened her pace. Just as she turned the corner onto Main Street, a sleek black sedan screeched to a halt, splashing water onto her dress. "Seriously?" Sophia groaned, shaking her dripping hair. Her carefully styled updo now clung to her face. The sedan's door swung open, revealing a chiseled, arrogant face. Piercing blue eyes scrutinized her. "Well, well. Look what we have here," Julian Blackwood sneered, eyeing Sophia's soaked dress. "A drowned rat." Sophia's eyes flashed. "Thanks for the sympathy, Mr...?" "Blackwood. Julian Blackwood." He stepped out, towering over her. His tailored suit accentuated his broad shoulders. As they exchanged tense words, Sophia noticed the depth of pain in Julian's eyes, hidden beneath his haughty exterior. For a fleeting moment, she saw vulnerability. "What's your problem, anyway?" Sophia asked, her voice firm. "You're my problem," Julian retorted. "You're blocking my path." Sophia stepped aside, gesturing sarcastically. "By all means, Mr. Blackwood." As Julian strode past, his phone rang, shrill in the rain-soaked air. "Blackwood," he answered curtly. Sophia watched as Julian's expression darkened. His eyes narrowed, jaw clenched. "I don't care what she wants," Julian growled. "Handle it, Jenkins." He hung up, his gaze locking onto Sophia. "You're still here?" he asked, incredulous. Sophia raised an eyebrow. "I'm waiting for your autograph, Mr. Blackwood." Julian's lips curled into a smirk. "Another fan." Sophia rolled her eyes. "Hardly." Their confrontation was interrupted by a passing taxi, splashing water onto the sidewalk. "Great, just great," Sophia muttered, shaking her dripping coat. Julian's gaze lingered on her, his expression softening. "Take this," he said suddenly, handing her a business card. Sophia hesitated before accepting. "Blackwood Industries," she read aloud. "If you need anything," Julian said, his voice low, "call me." Sophia's eyes met his, searching for sincerity. "Why would I need your help, Mr. Blackwood?" Julian's smile hinted at secrets. "You never know." With that enigmatic remark, he turned and disappeared into the rainy evening. Sophia watched him go, bewildered. Who was this complex, infuriating stranger?
