Blurb

Once upon a time, in the small coastal town of Bodega, California, lived a lively girl named Maddie. Across the ocean in London, there lived a boy named Simeon. Both were known for their naughty, chaotic personalities and their love for fun and mischief.

Simeon was 18 years old, and Maddie was 17. Fate brought them together when Simeon’s family moved from London to Bodega. Everything was new for him—the town, the people, and especially Maddie. They were complete strangers at first.

Out of curiosity and just for fun, both of them joined a local kindergarten school as teen volunteers, helping the younger kids while enjoying themselves. That’s where their friendship began.

At first, they teased each other, joked around, and caused harmless trouble together. Slowly, their bond grew stronger. What started as friendship soon turned into something deeper. Simeon realized he had fallen in love with Maddie. He began to express his feelings openly, though in his playful way.

Maddie tried to ignore it at first, but over time, she too found herself falling for Simeon. His smile, his accent, his care—it all made her heart soften.

As Christmas approached, the town prepared for its annual Christmas carnival, full of lights, music, and laughter. Simeon knew this was the moment. He wanted to make it special—something Maddie would never forget.

On the night of the carnival, under glowing fairy lights and falling snowflakes, Simeon brought out a small box. Inside was a delicate silver anklet.

He gently held Maddie’s hand and asked her if he could put it on her. With a shy smile and a racing heart, she nodded.

As he placed the anklet around her ankle, he looked up at her and finally said the words he had been holding inside for so long:

“Maddie, will you be mine?”

And in that magical moment, surrounded by music, lights, and winter air, their hidden love was no longer hidden. It had finally found its way into the open.

The First Morning
CHAPTER 1: The First Morning: The first morning after saying yes was full of chaos for Maddie and Simeon. They both woke up with bright smiles, feeling blessed, as if they had stepped into a new and beautiful life together. For both of them, it was their very first relationship—young, cute, fun, and filled with excitement. Maddie texted Simeon early in the morning. "It’s a Christmas party today for all the teachers. What are you supposed to wear?" Simeon replied almost instantly. "Let’s do matching. You tell me what you’re wearing." She laughed. "I’m still thinking about it." After a moment, Simeon wrote back, "Wear a black dress, and I’ll wear a black shirt." They both agreed and felt even more excited to see each other. Maddie put on her face mask, while Simeon stood in front of the mirror, trimming his beard and fixing his hair, trying to look perfect for her. They both kept checking the time, waiting for the evening to arrive. The party was at 7 p.m., so they started getting ready by 5. Simeon reached the school at 6 p.m., far too early, but he couldn’t help himself. He kept texting Maddie to come soon. She replied with a laughing emoji. "It’s still one hour left. Why did you go so early?" Finally, at 7 p.m., Maddie arrived at the school. As she stepped inside, a cool wind began to blow. Simeon was standing there, using his phone, when the wind suddenly made Maddie’s dupatta slip from her shoulder. She got busy fixing her dress. At that exact moment, Simeon looked up. And he saw her. For a second, he completely froze. The wind, her eyes, her smile—everything about her felt unreal. She looked absolutely beautiful. He came out of his thoughts and walked toward her to help. Suddenly, Maddie’s friends came running toward her and playfully pushed her. She lost her balance and fell straight into Simeon’s arms. At the same time, a romantic song started playing in the background: “I found a girl…” They stared at each other, shocked and breathless. The moment felt magical, as if the whole world had paused just for them. Everyone around them started looking, and they both burst into shy laughter. Simeon gently helped her stand properly, and they stepped apart, still smiling. Maddie went with her friends, and Simeon joined his. But even while standing with others, his eyes kept searching for her. Maddie turned around once, caught him looking, and smiled. Later, it was time for dinner. Simeon texted her again. "Come sit with me." She replied, "No, I can’t." But when they reached the dining area, Maddie sat at a table—and Simeon, confused but happy, walked over and sat right beside her. While everyone was busy eating, they were lost in their own little world. Maddie served food for him, and as she placed it on his plate, Simeon felt his heart beating faster. Without anyone noticing, he gently held her hand under the table. Maddie looked at him, surprised, then smiled and tried to pull her hand away. But he didn’t let go. He kept holding her hand while they ate, and neither of them said a word. That evening became unforgettable— their first magical memory together.
