The day of the annual competition is drawing near and is about to start in a few days. The teachers have already started their training to win the competition. “I don’t really expect you guys to win. Just do your best and its fine. We don’t want you all to get injured in the competition.” Inrad says to his students who are all looking so serious.
“Then that would be all for today. The headmaster called us for a meeting on what will happen during the competition. Train or do whatever you want.” He added as he left he room immediately. “Sorry about that teacher but our goal is already set.” Kris mutters when Inrad left.
“Looks like we will not have the chance to train in the training area for today, there is a huge amount if people there thanks to the annual competition.” Richard says as he pack his things. “We learned to much while training by ourselves and I think I got a lot stronger that what I used to be.” Jamaica added.
“That’s because you are earnestly working hard. Hard work beats talent, always remember that.” Xia said with a smile on her face. “Well, you are already talented but you’re still working hard. I’m sure you’ll get something in the competition.” Jamaica said to Xia who then humbly told her that she is not as talented as she thinks.
“Compared to anyone in this, I think I am the least talented. My uncle did a lot of things to help me get stronger but that just didn’t work out. “ she adds. “What do you think Kris? Can we get that win and surprise everybody?” Jhonas ask Kris who is writing something.
“The way we are now, we are a bit weaker than a teacher but I guess we can win. We just have to look out for Johannes’ attacks. His awakened ability is strength, dodging his punches and kicks goes without saying. “ Kris reminded them but then they remembered when they bet who can throw the strongest punch and Johannes broke through the punching bag effortlessly.
“Yeah, I don’t want to end up like that. Just thinking about it makes me want to forget that he is not human.” Richard said, the same feeling that everyone has on their faces. “Flora and the others are not so pushover as well. They have trump cards of their own, they did not let us see what they are hiding but just think of their families, that will give you a good hint what their trump card will be.” Kris added.
After that Kris and Flora’s group met at the cafeteria and planned where they will be able to train. Without much options, they ask the employee in charge of the task if he knows a place to train. “Hmm, if you want you can train inside. There are not much people coming here, to be honest I am the only person here all the time before you two arrived so I guess its okay.” He said and hands them the book. “Just write your names here. So that I can record who else came here.”
The group thank him and write off their names and went outside where the forest and the tasks are done. “Looks like you guys have been doing something behind our backs.” Ophir says with a teasing tone but Kris told him off immediately.
“Where did you think I got the money to buy those expensive plums huh? Money don’t grow out of trees you know?” Flora and the others were surprised to hear that Kris shared the rewards of the tasks with them even when they are close to strangers to him.
“That’s crazy, how many tasks did it take you to buy all ten plums?” Jhonas ask and made Kris wonder himself. “Hmm, I lost track after doing tasks eight times. The tasks are so easy and the reward is good so I saw it as an opportunity.” Now that they know that they have troubled Kris just to help them improve made them guilty but the young man just smile it off.
“Now that our training ground is different, we need to adjust.” Kris throws away his bag near a tree and started stretching. “After doing some tasks here alone. I learned that there are actually some low level monsters here. They are close to being harmless but it doesn’t hurt to be cautious so watch out everyone.”
TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP!
Kris started jogging after a light stretch and the others followed. The group, traveled the entire forest that the academy owns and faced some adorable and strange monsters on the way. They also did some sparring matches against each other that slightly changed the forest.
The headmaster sees them while walking past the window and stops. “Hmm? That’s strange, that place is not usually visited by students. What an odd but magnificent sight.” The headmaster smiles when he suddenly grab Mephisto’s shoulder that surprised the all so bored teacher.
“Is something wrong?” Mephisto turns to look at the students and recognize their faces. “They are with him, what about it? They have been training themselves in the training area this passed few months.” He said but unbeknownst to him, the headmaster is surprised about something else.
[What in the world did they do? Why do they have that kind of light floating around them? That is only a light that those beings have!] The headmaster tightly grip Mephisto’s shoulder. “Those students, they have learned a f*******n spell.”
Mephisto then turns to the headmaster with concern written all over his face. “What did you just say?”
“I said, those students learn a f*******n spell. A spell that does not belong to humans. It belong to their kind.” Mephisto immediately understood what the headmaster meant by “their kind” that he used his awakened ability and see that the students are rimming full of dense mana.
“Their mana levels are almost on the same level as an ordinary teacher. Such improvements are not seen in this world. Should I interrogate Kris? He is most likely to be the reason for all of this.” Mephisto offers but the headmaster shakes off his idea.
“Lets just see what they can do. We can’t just make a conclusion. The annual competition is coming. They are most likely training themselves for that.” The headmaster Mephisto’s back and proceeds to walk to their destination.
A few hours later and the group decided to rest for the day and planned to continue the next day. “You guys look spent. Did you all spend all you energy having fun on the outside?” he ask the moment they entered the building. “Yeah, we end up having a spar and dirtied ourselves. Thanks for letting us train there, is it possible to train there on the next few days?”
The employee see no problem in that and tells him that its fine. “Did you forget that this part of the academy is almost abandoned and forgotten?” Kris thanks the employee and then left when they realize that they already stink of sweat and mud. “See you tomorrow.”
