The next day just as Clarence had foreseen, the security of the academy tightens after the headmaster ordered a few soldiers to be stationed inside the academy fore the duration of the competition that will continue for days. “The soldiers that I have requested had arrived. That should be enough to keep him out of this place.” The headmaster said as he walks with the other heroes. “I think he had already seen this coming. I do not feel his presence anymore.” Mephisto said as he kept glancing around in secret.              

               “He is cautious enough to realize that. That is the kind of person he is from the very beginning. He and the organization that he belongs to will not jeopardize themselves just for the sake of trying to get an idea on who is the best to recruited.” The headmaster added with a clear voice.

               “I wish I did not eat a lot of fat from that pig yesterday. It made me really sleepy until now.” Kris said as he yawn while walking with the others to the arena. Flora and the others decided to fetch them just like they did yesterday and this time, they are all dressed for combat. “You better not give us a problem later. Before we got back to our rooms, our classmates wants to have some talk with you and its really annoying.” Flora told Kris but he doesn’t listen and is still drowsy and wants to continue sleeping when they come across Edmond and his g**g.

               “Look at this guy. We are about to continue the competition and you’re still sleepy? Want me to wake you up?” he said with a fierce tone as Kris continues to yawn. “Nah- seeing your face woke me up already. There is no need to go that far.” Kris responded as he stares right back at Edmond. “Yeah- you better not escape from me this time. Or else I’ll kick your ass.” Edmond then left after saying those words but it was more than enough to wake Kris. “That guy, why does he hate you so much?” Xia asked Kris but he doesn’t really know it himself just like everyone else.

               “Let’s just ignore him. There are people like him everyone and they just tend to hate anyone for no reason.” Kris said when all of the sudden he sees person that he did not expect to see in the morning. Acacia seems to be waiting for someone beside the door to the arena where the competition is held. “Kris Grindall, may I talk to you for a second?” she calls out to him without hesitation compared to the others that wants to have a talk with him but failed.

               “Kris, you know her?” Johannes ask his friend. Acacia Scifer is not a very well known student in the academy nor her name pops up in the bulletin board so its normal for everyone to be unfamiliar with her but to their surprise, Kris decided to talk to her just as she requested. “You guys go first. I’ll catch up later.” Kris said but the others are not sure if they should leave him be but then Johannes continue to walk. “You better. Otherwise we’d take the win from you.”

               Seeing that his close friend did not flinch or got worried for him, the others follow after making sure that he follows behind them. “Now, what do you want to talk about miss Scifer?” Acacia is taken aback by what he said since she did not introduce herself to him just yet and he already knows her identity. “I-I have been ordered to recruit you.” She stutters after realizing that he may have already a clue as to what she is going to say.

               Kris’ eyes widens when he hears the notice of the system about Acacia. He could not contain his anger and bloodlust in her company that made her think that she did something wrong with her words. “There is no need to talk further. I have refused and denied them as far as I can remember. Sending you to convince me will not change a thing.” Kris said with an angered tone and leaves immediately with a cold attitude towards her even when they are lovers in his past life.

               “What’s with that guy? I did not even say anything. Looks like he bears deep grudge against them.” She mutters to herself but then realize that she failed to complete the mission that was given to her. The moment Kris step inside the arena, Kresha was already waiting inside the platform and just as Kris declared a few moment ago, he is Kresha’s opponent as the first match of the day.

               “Will you look at that, even fate agrees with me.” Kris said as he smiles bitterly and steps inside the platform.
