The difficult truth. Andrew's Pov

1269 Words
As Angelica asks me what this whole situation has to do with her, I take a deep breath, before I say anything. I know that, what I'm about to say is going to be difficult for her. There is no easy way to say it and no matter how I'll give her the news, she'll be hurt. I look at her and I can see that she's waiting for me to reply, and give her the answers to questions that she's been asking herself since she first woke up this morning. "As I already explained Patrick's father betrayed the King", I started. "What you do not know is that your parents were very close to royal family. They were almost like family to my parents and were close friends with Patrick's parents as well", Angelica was looking at me and listening carefully. "Before his execution, Patrick's father shouted that your parents are going to pay for his death. For some reason he blamed them, as if it was their fault that he turned against the royal family", as I continued, I could see Angelica's eyes grow wide in shock as she's trying to take in everything I just said. "This might sound crazy, but do you think, that Patrick could have something to do with my parents' death?", she asked as she got up from her chair. "It was never confirmed, that their plane crash was an accident", she continued and I could see her face turn pale. Within seconds her eyes closed and she fainted, sliding down on her chair. I've got up and rushed to her, to make sure that she was ok, but she wasn't responding. I've wrapped my arms around her and lifted her up. Not wasting any time, I have rushed with Angelica in my arms out of the library, shouting for my guards to get a doctor. As I've got to my bedroom, I've put her on my bed, waiting for Michael to arrive. Suddenly I've felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I couldn't catch a breath and my heart was aching. She was my mate, the only one for me and my whole world. I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to her. I haven't even got a chance to tell her how I feel about her and how important she is to me. I sat next to her on my bed, took her hand and kissed it. "I'm not going to let you leave me. Not now, not ever", I whispered to her as I heard the door opening. I've got up as I saw Michael entering the room and I've rushed his way. "You need to help her, I don't know what happened", I shouted not being able to control myself. "I can't lose her. You need to do something ". Michael didn't waste any time and got to Angelica's side. "I know this is difficult, but I'm going to need you to calm down and tell me what happened", he said to me. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. "I was telling her about Patrick and his parents", I said with shaking voice. "And when I told her that Patrick's father blamed her parents for what happened, she got up quickly and asked if I thought that Patrick had something to do with their death", I continued trying to keep as calm as possible. "I didn't even get a chance to respond as she fainted right after that. I lifted her up and rushed here as fast as I could". Michael gave me an understanding look and nodded his head. "I'll do what I can, but you need to give me some space and let me do my job", he said looking at me. My body was shaking and I didn't want to leave her side even for a moment, but I didn't want to interrupt Michael. Making sure that Angelica was ok, was my priority now and I wasn't going to help, if I stayed here. "Ok, but I'll be just outside the door. I need to know as soon, as you know anything", I said. Michael patted my shoulder, gave me understanding look and nodded his head. I turned around and left the room. As soon as I got out, I saw my younger brother standing outside the door. "Tell me what happened. Is she ok?", he asked as soon as he spotted me. "I don't know yet, she's still unconscious. Michael is examining her, to try to see what caused that", I explained. "All we can do is wait. I'm really grateful, that you came", I said. "Of course, where else would I be? She's nearly a family. I came as soon as I've heard ", Dereck replied giving me a hug. "Thanks, little brother. I know I can always count on you", I said and gave him a warm smile. "I'll go to see parents and let them know what's happening. I'm sure, that they're worried as well. I'll be right back", he said as he turned around and left in a hurry. As I was standing outside my bedroom, I felt my wolf unsettled for the first time since Angelica got here. As if he felt something was wrong. It made me even more worried and I started walking back and forth. I needed to know if she's ok soon or I was going to go crazy. Suddenly the door opened and I saw Michael. There was a concerned look on his face and I was waiting for him to say something. "She regained consciousness, but she's really weak", he finally said. I felt as if weight has been lifted of my shoulders and I felt my wolf to calm as well. "There's something not right though, and I can't figure out what it is. I'll need to run some more tests", he continued. "Can I go in and see her?", I asked. "Yes, but she needs to rest", he said. "Please make sure that she stays in bed for now", he added and left the room, leaving the door open for me. I walked in and as soon as I saw Angelica, her eyes met mine. She gave me a warm smile, but I could see that she still wasn't feeling well. I grabbed one chair, put it next to bed and sat on it. I sat like that quietly for few minutes, before Angelica spoke to me. "What happened to me? I feel a bit dizzy and thirsty ", she said. I've got up and grabbed a pitcher and a glass, standing on the night stand, and purred a glass of water for her. I helped her to hold the glass to make it easier for her. "Thank you you're so nice to me", she said and smiled and I've felt my heart skip a bit. "I'll be here, if you need me. I'm not leaving you here alone", I said. "But I thought that you have a ball to attend", she replied with a bit confused look. "That's not important right now. My family can take care of it. I'm staying here, with you", I said as I took a sit in my chair. "Michael said that you should rest. Maybe try to get some sleep", I said. Angelica smiled at me and nodded. She turned on her side, towards me and closed her eyes. There was nowhere else I'd rather be now and that's all that mattered to me. If Patrick or anyone else will try to harm Angelica, than they'll have to go through me.
