33 “Mom, you have to take the car into the shop. Something’s wrong,” Ian insisted. Fiona walked around the older model Honda, looking for a flat tire or a puddle of leaking fluid under the engine. Nothing. She popped the hood and inspected what was visible. Cables were connected to the battery. All the belts appeared to be where they should be. She checked the oil level, the wiper fluid, the radiator fluid. Nothing seemed amiss. “Baby, we’re going to be late. I’ll call the service station in town and make an appointment, okay?” “Can we ask Carli to borrow her car?” Fiona glanced at the slick white Dodge Challenger. Sighing, she turned to look at the line of business vehicles and huffed out a breath. As she walked around them, she noticed what she didn’t see with her car. Flat tires. P
