“No problem. Have a good day,” Ester called to Fiona’s back just before the office door closed. Turning the envelope over, Ester’s smile turned to a speculative frown as she saw the flap firmly sealed, securing whatever was inside. Holding it up to the light, she couldn’t see through the security envelope, but it felt like a folded, single piece of paper. She set it on her desk, then glanced at the clock. Almost three. If court ran late, Shaun wouldn’t be back from Cheyenne until after six. He would find it on his desk, eventually. Sighing, Ester picked up her novel and returned to the story.
