BRENNAN I couldn’t shake the rage that filled my chest. The sight of those bruises and scars wouldn’t leave my mind. Her body painted a picture of what her life must have been like in that pack. And that it was her own brother that did it to her. I stopped walking and slammed a fist into a nearby tree. Pieces of it broke off, and pain burst through my hand at the contact. A smear of blood was left behind when I pulled my hand away, and I forced myself to pick out the splinters and pieces of bark before my skin healed. Unlike me, Kiera couldn’t heal.
