Chapter 2

The sound of phone ringing made Emma stir in her bed , she reached to it and answered in a sleepy voice ....like anyone would

" hello, Emma kelter talking "

"Miss.kelter , I am talking from Winwood enterprises ,your resume impressed us and so we would like to have you for an interview at our headquarters . We'll send you all the details in a message " a woman with a sophisticated tone spoke

Emma's eyes no longer were sleepy and tired , Emma widened her eyes at the news , she never thought that it would happen so fast . She didn't know how to respond , her tongue was tied and words lost their way

" y-y-yes , sure! ...... Thank you so much!! " Emma said her voice filled with happiness .

After that call , Emma started to jump on her bed , like a child that just got candy . Her body was screaming with happiness. She'll finally be able to pay her rent and help her parents , be an independent woman and walk a step closer to her dream ..... .

She dialed her best friends number , Elisa who would never failed to answer a call . She was the right person when Emma was in a deep trouble , she had a happy news or gossip , she was the right person always .

" Omg girl , did you forget that I exist ?!!!" Elisa spoke

" sorry , I was too busy in my own griefs that there was no time to even bathe "

"Oh yeah really , just - forget it what happened , friend " said Elisa excited to know because most of the time she had good news

" I got a job at Winwood enterprises can you believe that !!!! " overwhelmed with happiness

" Oh my gosh honey you deserve that , I'm so happy for you . At last you'll be able to solve your problems!! "

" oh yes , I really can't believe that till now " Emma was cut when the bell rang

" hey someone is ringing the bell gotta go , bye " Emma said walking towards the door

" see you , bye " Elisa replied before closing the call

Emma opened the door to find a man in his thirties in a suit, he had a dark shade of brown hair and his features were bold yet calm at the same time . He looked elegant and sophisticated

" How can I help you " Emma said trying to figure out what he wanted

" Miss. Kelter I am here to pick you up , Didn't you get that message " said the stranger in a calm voice

"Message , what message are you talking about? " said Emma looking puzzled

"The one from Winwood enterprises? " said confusion creeping to his face

" oh ! How fast did they manage to send it " Emma said searching her phone for the message , finding it after a short while .

"I'm deeply sorry but it's just know I read the message please give me at least 10 minutes to get ready " Emma said to the stranger

" yes sure "

Emma ran through her closet and ended with the same sentence every girl says " I don't have anything to wear !! "

Emma at last wore a black pencil skirt that hugged her curves and a semi sheer sleeved top , she wanted to look elegant and at the same time sexy yet professional . She always tried to maintain that look , she felt that it explained the way she wanted to be . She grabbed her handbag and headed towards the door .

" I'm ready , let's go " Emma said while locking the door of her apartment.

The road to the headquarters gave time for Emma to rather think of how things happened fast . As she recalled her address wasn't included in the resume and also her personal phone number that she included was her old one before 1 month that she changed so how come they got the new number . Plus that for any company be it Winwood or not , she never thought that there were any provided special transport for people who applied . All these thoughts formed a suspicion that there was something other than work.

Emma was smart , she always kept her head organized and gun ready at the same time . She may not tell but she always had that card that could turn the tables and she knew when to use it .

"I don't feel good " Emma whispered while heading out of the car that stopped a while ago when she was drowning deep in her thoughts .

She took a moment to admire how the skyscraper stood , it was located in a great location that mixed both greenery and contemporary life . It was beautiful on the outside too with all the expensive pots of plants standing organized . The Winwood's always made sure that they excelled in everything , they were known for their care for even the smallest details and that what made them simply differ in business world .

Emma didn't actually have the same problem many people who is applying for a job would have, nervousness . Her steps screamed confidence and ego as she walked towards the reception , her heels made a satisfying echo that made heads turn at last being confident and fierce is what you learn is the key to win in business maybe not always but most of the time .

A lady with a blonde hair greeted her with a warm smile , she returned the greeting directly skipping to what she wanted .

" I'm here for an interview with Mr.winwood , I'm Emma kelter " she spoke trying to add in her tone confidence and professionalism

" yes of course Miss.Kelter , head to floor 78 , to your right there is a long hallway that leads to Mr.Winwood's office "

Emma's heart dropped when she heard the number 78 , she thought that it is at at highest would be 40-50 floors but other than that there were no thoughts higher than that . She wasn't afraid but she has a small fear drop in her heart of heights only a drop......

"Yes , thank you for the help " she grinned happily trying to hide her distress and she never failed to.

Emma would seem for you a perfect lady that has many skills to manipulate people but Emma only showed that side when she worked in the business world . She was a normal sweet lady if you meet her but it's work that molds her into a new person and well she can't be blamed.

Emma pressed the button 78with hesitation , she was also surprised that there was another button higher than 78 it was 79 .

The roof for sure ......she thought

After 5-10 minutes of standing , she could finally hear the dinging sound

She exhaled sharply before knocking door leading to Mr.Winwood's office , she hesitated before her hands came in touch with the hard black wood but before she could knock the door opened to reveal.....................
