Drew knocks the door. Mr. Arden opens it. “Good afternoon, Mr. Arden. I am just worried because Jette is not answering my calls. She doesn’t do it as usual,” said Drew. “Yes Drew, Jette ran out the house yesterday night while we are having dinner,” said Mr. Arden. “I am just too worried about her, she acts weird really,” added Mrs. Arden. “It’s sad because it’s my first dinner with them and yet, my sister left us all of a sudden,” said John. “Sister?” asked Drew. “Yes, this is John, my son…” said Mr. Arden. “Nice meeting you, John,” said Drew. “But I wonder where is she now?” asked Drew. “We’re all worried about her,” said John. They decided to go to the police station to report that Jette is 12 hours missing already. the police officer assigned there explained that they need to wait for 24 hours before someone is declared missing. They also came to the TV station and Radio station to announce that Jette is missing. *** “Where am I?” asked Jette. She stands up and notices that she is wearing a white soft and fragrant dress. She looks at the mirror and she’s so beautiful. The place is like heaven on earth, it’s so cold and so nice. “What’s this? Am I dead already?” asked Jette. “Is this what they call as heaven?” added Jette. “No, it’s not heaven. You’re still on earth. I am Gaymo, the queen of this magnificent place,” said the beautiful girl with golden hair and pink dress. “Oh my God, am I crazy already?” Jette told herself. “No, you’re not crazy. It really happens to those who are cursed,” explained Gaymo. “You mean, it has something to do with the curse?” asked Jette. “Yes, it has. You know, Jette… The book is incomplete. You cannot find there the things that I will tell you. “Sure, I will listen, Ms. Gaymo,” said Jette. Gaymo walked on the upstairs, and allow Jette to watch herself die a tragic death. She told Jette, “That will be the exact thing that will happen to you if you burn the book without fulfilling the promise your grandpa made to me. Yes, it all started with your grandpa. I was the one who made the curse. The book is half burnt already because of the rules fulfilled. But, if you find the final rule there and be able to burn it as easy as that, I will see to it that you will experience that scene.”   “I don’t understand Gaymo,” said Jette and she is already so nervous. Gaymo said, “I used to be half human, half fairy. I met your grandpa, Mario when our queen allowed me to visit the Earth and interact with human beings. We started as friends, until Mario became someone so dear to me. I fell in love with him, and promised our queen that I can be able to marry a human being, and bring him here in our fairyland. But when I told Mario about it, he didn’t want to be with me. I cried a river, but he just laughed at me and told me that I’m going crazy. He didn’t believe everything that I told him. He even created one night’s a mockery. We went out for a party together with his friends, then I introduced myself as his girlfriend. But Mario insulted me and told everyone that he’s not going to date someone who is crazy.   Then…”   Jette interrupted, “Then you cursed him?” “Yes, I made a curse on him… I said that I’m going to make sure that Mario and his family will suffer the wrath of my revenge,” said Gaymo. “So, why did you bring me here? Do you know, I’ve already suffered a lot? Your curse reached our generation and I have nothing to do with your issues with my grandpa,” said Jette. But, Gaymo said… “Yes, I know everything. You’ve been struggling with your mental health issues and that’s because of me. Remember your grandpa called me “crazy” all the time? I cursed him to suffer insanity instead, and I even cursed that mental illness will dominate his entire family. That’s why your Mom suffered from bipolar disorder, your brother has some mental health issues as well, and you… I have to admit, I got guilty. I know that you’re not part of your grandpa’s ill intention and treatment on me. I brought you here because I want to remove all the curses I made.”   “Really? Wow, you do not know how happy I am today. I still believe that there’s goodness in every human being or even in every fairy,” said Jette. “But, it’s not that easy. You have to fulfill my conditions…” added Gaymo. “Anything, I will do it, just to save me and my family from the curse,” said Jette. “You have to stay here for good. I will give you everything you need. I will give you a mansion full of gold. I will give you everything, money, power, and beauty… you’re going to be an immortal just like us,” added Gaymo. Jette, upon hearing it, is so shocked. She feels that there is really an impossibility that the curse will die a natural death. Anxious thoughts start to dominate her mind. She feels so restless, her knees are trembling, and her palms are sweaty. “Gaymo, what if I don’t like? Is there a chance that the curse will end?” asked Jette. “The puzzle continues… And if you will not burn the book until your daughter reaches 18 years of age, the curse will be passed onto her. You will be saved, yes… But the suffering will be put on the shoulders of your daughter,” explained Gaymo. Jette thought about it, so many times, what if she doesn’t get married? Of course, she will not bear a daughter and the curse will be stopped once she burns it. She plans to get married once the book is already burned. “Gaymo, I will leave,” bravely said Jette. “Let me give you a deal… Stay here for just an hour, and I will show you the grandeur of this place. I will allow you to explore and if you will not like what you see and what you experience, you are free to leave,” said Gaymo. “Deal,” said Jette. Gaymo leads Jette to her mansion. She gives her the keys, and Jette entered the room with a big clock where she can see if the time’s up. When the time’s up, the clock will create a sound or alarm. The moment Jette entered the room, she is reminded of her promise to her parents. She wants them to give that kind of house. The mansion is so big. There is a chandelier that gives light to the entire house. The sofa set is magnificent. The kitchen is as clean as a child’s room. There is a room which has all the pictures of her. Good pictures that depict how successful and how rich she is. The TV turns on, and she sees herself in the video. She wears an extraordinary gown, yellow with a touch of black sprinkle. She’s a princess indeed. The entire house is so clean, she goes upstairs, there she finds 5 rooms and she visits each of the rooms. The first room reminds her of her promise to her family, a room that is so clean and fragrant, that should have been fit for her parents. Then she goes to the second room, she sees a wedding picture of Drew and her. That should have been their love nest. She goes to the third room, and she saw a picture of a lovely little boy, and a beautiful girl. That should have been their kids. The fourth room is an executive room where she saw her name, “Atty. Bridgette Arden”… She enters and looks at the cabinet full of law books, and she starts reading one book. It was a good read. She moves to the fifth and last room, it is the way back home… Jette starts recalling every detail on every room, and she has this thought… she told herself, “Jette, what is the purpose of this adventure? Why was I brought here? I don’t understand. Gaymo hates our family, but is it possible that a revengeful fairy has a conscience? Then the rooms… why do they have pictures of my future self? And a way back home? I really don’t get it. It is like a puzzle here…” Jette looked at the clock, the clock seems not moving. “Is 1-hour equivalent to 1 year here?” she asked herself. It seems right. *** Meanwhile, on Earth five months have already passed. Drew and Jette’s family seem hopeless finding the girl. Drew went to the church. He prays, “God, why is this happening to me? All I do is love someone but that someone seems not truly in love with me… I just hurt myself by letting myself love that woman. Is she really in love with me?” Drew cries a lot. He went out of the church. He drove his car, and drove around the city and looked for a place to drink. He saw a bar open at 12:00 AM, and then he ordered a bucket of beer. Someone came near him. She offered a drink… when Drew turned his head, it was Laine, his ex-girlfriend. “Laine? Is that you?” asked Drew. “Yes, who else?” answered Laine. “What brings you here?” asked Drew. “Well, let’s say I’ve gone through a bad break-up and I need some sips of cocktails, and actually I’m about to go home, and I saw you,” explained Laine. “Oh, I see. Take care going home,” said Drew. (Laine grabbed a chair) “But I can stay a little more,” said Laine. They started talking and reminiscing back all the memories they had way back then. Drinks after drinks, and they’re already fully drunk. “I got to go,” said Drew. “Let me give you a ride,” he added. Drew successfully drove his car and brought Laine to her place. Laine asked Drew if they could spend a little time inside her condo unit… and the rest is a night to remember. It was an early morning experience, instead. *** Morning after it. “Wake up, gentleman,” sweetly said Laine. (Drew woke up, and was really shocked) “Laine? What did you do?” asked Drew. “Me??? Or should I say, you?” asked Laine. “Laine, I need to go out, and this… this is nothing. I’m already engaged, and my fiancée is missing. I am just one lonely man, and this is nothing, alright?” said Drew. Drew went out of Laine’s condo unit and he drove back home. He immediately took a bath, and shouted aloud, “WHYYYY DIIDDDD I DOOOOO SUUUCCCHHH A SSSSTTUUUPPIIIIDDDD THHIINNGG????” *** Back to the fairyland. Jette decided to explore the first room. She entered the room where a picture of her happy parents is displayed, she walked around and found out that the room is like a mini-version of the entire mansion. She just turned into a happy lady; she doesn’t know why. Everything is happy and light. There is no problem. She decided to turn the TV on, it was a video of how happy she is as a child. She was born 1986, first month. She saw how happy her parents are. She is so cute way back then. Her first word. Her first cry. Her first smile. Everything is just precious to her parents. Her father taught her everything. How to write. How to read. How to pray. How to sing. How to dance. Her mother gave her everything. Her first set of clothes. Her favorite doll. Her favorite set of toys. Her favorite doughnut. She is one lucky child because she doesn’t have any sibling. She continued watching the story of her life’s childhood. She is so happy way back then. She just enjoys watching herself on TV that’s why she just doesn’t want to go out of that room.
