Chapter 03

Without thinking any further for other possibilities, he trudged towards the girl and seized her arm, moving her away from the railway. it was a very quick and impulsive movement, that confusion washed over her face. Jimin sighed in relief and he faced her. "What were you doing?" His eyes travelled down to her hand just to see a small tree branch on her hand. The confused look on her face deepened, which Jimin gladly returned likewise, as he's probably just as confused as she was. "Sitting and enjoying the night wind?" She replied after a brief—almost uncomfortable—silence. The girl adjusted her sweater and skirts afterwards. "On a railway? Do you know that you could've died?" Jimin tilted his head, began estimating her age, although that's probably not the most appropriate thing to think about. By appearance, Jimin had presumed that the girl must be around his age—twenty or somewhere around that. She was only a few inches shorter than him. "Uhm? I won't? Because the last night train had just passed a few moments ago, so surely I would've been okay. But anyways, thank you so much for your concerns, it's very much appreciated." She bowed politely as Jimin waved his hand, half feeling bad, half embarrassed. "But how'd you know the train schedule? The station is kilometers away from here," he asked. even though Jimin wasn't an overachiever at math, he could measure the distance by the fatigue he felt. His tired, wobbly legs told him that the station was pretty far from this area. He could tell that much. She chuckled. "It is not, though. That station is only about ten to fifteen minutes walk. And to answer your question, I actually live there." Lifting her little branch, she pointed to a house behind Jimin. "That's why I have unconsciously memorized the schedule," she explained. To sum things up; firstly, this girl just told Jimin that what felt like hours of walking was actually just a fifteen minutes worth of walk. What a great start to his refreshing vacation here. Second, living near a train track? Jimin still found this concept a little bit hard to grasp. In his life, at least, he had never met someone who'd be willing to stay near a track. And he'd put a mountain of money on the bargain to see if any of the girls he knew would take it. There's so many interesting things to learn here indeed, or to be more specific, she was interesting.
