Chapter 02

The train reached its last stop; the place where he could run to, faraway from the city and everything.

Grabbing his luggage, jimin closed the book he was reading and shoved it into his coat pocket before going out, waiting for other commuters to exit the train first until his turn.

As soon as he stepped out, he could feel the huge different from the city. There were barely any people bustling around, and the station wasn't as fancy and big as that of a city. There was only a vending machine with row of seats adjacent to it, also a small ramen shop located not so far from the station, being a dot of light amidst pure darkness.

Jimin decided that he should eat first before going elsewhere. It's been hours since the last time he ate something, so he went to the small ramen shop and ordered his food. While waiting for it to come out, he pondered a lot about this unfamiliar, new surroundings. Usually, he would hear footsteps and random phone conversations from people around him, but now, it's very tranquil, considering the station was a public place.

After finishing his late dinner, Jimin walked out to the village. His body dwelled with the darkness. As far as his feet brought him, he could only hear the sound of crickets. He took out a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket that has his aunt's address written on it. He navigated himself through the roads, and began walking towards his destination, asking some people he met on his night journey.

But despite having an address and many people telling him where he should go, he still found himself lost in this area that he definitely didn't recognize. He visited his aunt once before, but never came to this place, so i'm definitely lost right now, he concluded. With a no service phone and bare minimum knowledge about this village.

Wonderful.

He's lost around this certain neighborhood and saw a train track in front of him. A girl was sitting on the rails, back facing him.

Is she trying to kill herself?
