The Fastest One

The Alarm Clock is the worst thing man has ever invented. I mean, I hate them from the bottom of my heart. Why you ask? Because they wake you up, especially when you want to sleep for longer or don't want to be woken up!! I groaned, blindly grabbing at my bedside table, trying to locate my stupid Alarm Clock so I can throw it in the burning pits of hell!! This is why I ain't a morning person. I grumbled and entered the bathroom, to get a quick shower and head off to my school. School might sound like hell to some people, I am one of them. School is fun, to be honest, hanging out with your friends, learning new and fascinating stuff. It sounds alright right? Yes, until you meet my Maths teacher. If I must use one word to describe her, then I would say ~ 'Devil'. The way she teaches is really good, but she hates me... and every time I answer something wrong, I am sent out of the class. Which isn't fair!! Anyways, ignoring school. I stepped into the shower, enjoying the feel of hot water on my head and the silence around it. I could think to myself in the shower which was great! I am Clay, nice to meet you all. I am a 14-year-old guy, pretty handsome if you ask me. I stepped out of the shower, picked out some clothes to wear. I wore a green jacket with a smiley face on it and bluish-black jeans. The one good thing about my class, you could wear whatever you wanted.  I gathered all my books and stuffed them into my bag.   My parents were busy as usual, My mom was a lovely lady. She was a Doctor, to be precise a Neurologist, and my dad was a software engineer. My mom was making breakfast while my dad was watching the news. My brother was still asleep which annoyed me! I rushed down the stairs to help my mom out a bit. Then we had breakfast, I had 2 Cheese Sandwiches and I left for the bus stop, groan, which was a 10 minutes walk.  I reached the bus stop five minutes early, met my best friend, her name is Chloe. She lives right next to my house and my family and her family are good friends. We usually study together. She is smart, weird, helpful, and kind-hearted. The Worst part she is my math teacher's favorite student, for which I feel sad for her. But, she is pretty happy about it. "Good Morning Clay!! Guessing you broke your alarm clock today." She said, smirking at me. "Yes." I said, "Why do you know that?!" I asked. "I live next to your house after all."She replied. I just stood embarrassed and silent until the bus arrived. Chloe still smirking at my face. When the bus pulled up, I was pushed to the very back of the line when people were getting on. I was the last to step in. Luckily Chloe saved a seat for me next to her. In front of me, my other good friend namely Carl. He was very studious, weird, and helpful.  I, Chloe, and Carl are best friends. The bus drive took about 45 minutes. I was listening to music the whole time ignoring all the loud conversations around me.  I was the first to get off the bus. I waited for Chloe and Carl to get off the bus, and then we walked into the classroom. The First period was Physics, my favorite period,  not only was the subject fascinating even the teacher was a lovable person. Her name was Rolly. "Ok students..." She said, "Today we will be learning about Gravitation." "Yes, mam!!" The class replied. Gravitation is one of my favorite chapters. Sir Isaac Newton is my inspiration, he discovered gravity because an apple fell on the ground.  My teacher started teaching us various different things about gravity. Like about the Universal Law of Gravity, freefall, derivation of 'g' etcetera. It was very fun until I looked behind me. Three guys were bullying a new student. I raised my hand but by then my teacher had already slapped the guy. I was shocked. She was standing near the board like 2 seconds ago!!! and now she is near the backbench. I'm I hallucinating or did I miss something? "What is happening?!" I asked Chloe. "Wait, give me a second, I honestly need to think." I had never heard Chloe speak like that. "So!" she continued "Rolly Mam was near the board like 1 second ago and now she is near the backbench?!!" she gasped. At this is point I was scared, I knew I was not hallucinating. I and Chloe exchanged looks thinking about how she can be so quick. "Ok, Class, tomorrow we will do some questions about Gravity. Now class is dismissed." She said in a sassy way. I and Chloe still couldn't comprehend what happened. We were in shock. Everyone left the classroom and went to the playground. I decided to stay back and head to the library. Chloe decided to accompany me, while Carl went to play.  The Librarian was an old and kind lady, she was very good. I greeted her and went to the mythical section of the library. I saw this fat book namely "The Quickest one". It sounded weird so I decided to read it. I was into the book when I read about a necklace, this necklace can be used to teleport, but it was very hard to practice, and wrong use of it can result in the user's death. The Necklace looked familiar to me, but I wasn't quite sure if my assumption was right.  I showed the picture to Chloe, She gasped and said "Doesn't Rolly mam have the same necklace?" I nodded my assumptions were correct. "Also read these few pages, Chloe," I said. She read them very carefully. "So, you think the reason why Rolly mam went that quick was because she is a TeleWorker?" She said in a confused and scared manner. "Maybe, maybe not" I replied. "But, Chloe the book says the TeleWorker might die if the necklace is not used correctly and also there is only ONE! TeleWorker remaining! and don't you think it might be Miss. Rolly?!" She just remained expressionless because it was too much for her.  "Clay!" The Librarian called, "Time is up, do you want to issue the book you are reading currently?" "Yes..." I replied. This book could be worth it to read, and if Miss. Rolly really is a TeleWorker, that would be cool. A physics teacher traveling as fast as Light! Chloe and I went back to the classroom. It was Maths.  An Hour Later ~  Maths didn't go bad, for the first time I wasn't sent out of the classroom, thanks to Chloe. The rest of the periods were pretty boring if you ask me. The Last period was Chemistry and we were learning about atoms and molecules. The day at school was over and then I and Chloe headed home. On the way back I found something more interesting about TeleWorkers, the reason why a person could die if they use the Necklace was that at the speed they travel there atoms can't be held up together because of increasing heat and the user might just disappear in thin air.  I made sure Chloe read this. The looks on her face became even scarier. But, we had to confirm this only from Miss. Rolly. Anyways I went home and Chloe came over, we finished our homework together and Chloe taught me Maths. I was pretty weak at Maths so Chloe was very helpful. That night I slept in curiosity, on how Miss. Rolly had got the necklace, how she is so perfect in using it and then I remember a line from the book, then the necklace can't be destroyed unless and until the "Chosen One" touches it.   1359 Words  Spoiler - The Dark Past Thank you for Reading:) To Be Continued~
