I woke up to find daisies on my bedside table, along with a note that said, “Have a day as lovely as you, Kennis.” I couldn't help but smile.
I got out of bed and got ready for the day. I did my hair and got dressed. When I went downstairs, I found Kennis in the foyer, speaking on the phone about tracking someone. I wondered who he wanted to track, maybe Horus? They didn't talk about him, but he was a shadow that loomed over them- us. He ended the call when he noticed me.
“Good morning,” I said, swallowing as I descended the last stair.
“Good morning,”
I was pleasantly surprised when he leaned in to kiss my cheek. We were so close, and he smelled delicious.
“Ready for work?” he asked. I nodded, our eyes locked, and my heart skipped a bit.
“I’ll take you there,” he offered
