After a while the bus arrived and they boarded before me. I sat behind them and even though I didn't want to listen to them, I became even more interested when I heard what they were talking about again. I felt mysterious by what I heard, but I did not fully understand what they were saying.
I was thinking as I sat down and later the bus suddenly stopped and the two Koreans got up to get off. When they came down I felt like I wanted to follow them, but I was hesitant. And when I saw the conductor closing
the bus door, it seemed to prompt me to follow them so I was suddenly chased down. "Wait, I'm going down!" I called out and I hurried to get down. The sun was setting. And it was already dark. I looked at the two Koreans and I saw them walking through the city. There’s a lot of people walking around. I had a hard time following them.
I still followed them, but they were blocked by people walking and they disappeared from my sight, I lost the track on following them. I still couldn't help but look where they were. I think they might go to the club they are referring to and maybe Gyung-suk is what they are talking about? While I was looking around, I saw them again. They turned left in a dark street.
I followed them again, and they noticed that someone seemed to be following them.
I immediately hid behind the light pole. And I felt scared and nervous. I do not know why I am nervous. I slowly peeked in and saw that they were wearing a strange face masks. And after that they walked again. I followed them again.
And there I saw them enter an establishment that looked like a club.
It has signage on the outside the Octagon written in Korean. I understood this because I learned to read and write their language.
There was a guard guarding its cabin and I saw they showed ID to the guard and they swipe on a machine. And when they got in, I approached the guard.
The guard looked at me and saw that I did not have a face mask.
"What do you need?" He asked.
"I just want to ask what kind of club is this?" I asked.
"This is an international club, there is a party going on inside every night," said the guard.
"How much is the entrance fee?" I ask earnestly, thinking that I can see Gyung-suk there.
"You can't enter if you are not a member," said the guard.
"How to become a member?" I eagerly ask. The guard shook his head.
"You will only become a member if someone recruits you as a member here," he scoffed.
"What do you have when you become a member?" I asked eagerly.
"I can't answer you because I don't know anything, I'm just a guard and I have never been inside, all I know is there’s a party there over night,” the guard said,
"Is that so, because I am curious," I said.
I have a lot to ask the guard. But he didn't want to answer me anymore, he was sending me away.
Until I got his attention.
"Leave, you are not allowed to stay here long, I do not know anything about this club, even though I do not know the name of this club, I also do not understand that written sign!" Said the guard.
"I understand what that sign means!" My answer.
The guard was surprised by what I said.
“Really? You know? "He asked.
"Yes!" My answer.
"All right, what is written on that sign?"
“Octagon Kizoku!” My answer.
"Is it true, how can I believe you?"
"I studied in Korea for two years, this is my ID," I told him.
I showed it to him and he believed me. The guard smiled.
I wondered why.
"Thank you, I finally know the name of this club!" He said with a smile on his face.
"But why are you happy?" I asked in wonder.
"The agency I worked for said, when I find out what is written there, they will raise my salary and give me a bonus!" The guard said cheerfully. I was surprised by what he said.
"Why?" I asked in astonishment.
"That was the challenge they gave me, to whom I asked no one could answer," said the guard.
I smiled and was free to ask him questions.
"I felt mysterious in the club, what exactly is that club?" I asked him.
Later, the guard whispered to me. "Do you know that is also how I feel, I don't know what's in it, the people who come in here are different races, and they dress differently, there is a dress code inside!" Said the guard.
"Are there any Korean members?" I asked him.
"I think there is, this is a Korean Japanese club,"
I looked at the door of the club and it was closed.
“Can I peek inside? ” I dare ask.
"I can't let you do that, as I told you, even I haven't seen it yet, the two Korean women you saw entered here , they had a secret key so they were able to enter inside," said the guard.
"Maybe there is a monkey business inside?" I asked feeling strange.
"There is no such thing here, because the majority of the members are young people, and the government does not take advantage of it," said the guard.
"Why?" I asked in astonishment, “Members here are untouchable, I do not know why, and even me could not open the door, I’m just a guard here,” he said,
I became even more curious, but the guard told me to go home. He said I was not allowed to stay there long and ask questions. I walked away and thought of what the guard said. I thought that Gyungsuk might be there, I did not go home and waited on one side, wondering if a member might come and maybe Gyungsuk was the one.
