POV Conner
My friend Tommy is shaking me awake, I'm still dizzy and my head is pounding from the night before. He keeps yelling about getting up for work and how he told me I shouldn't have gone out last night. I roll out of bed and chug the bottle of water on my nightstand hoping it will make the headache fade. I open my phone and see it's 6:45 AM and I need to be at work at 7 so I start rushing to put my slacks on and button my shirt. As I'm running out the door I realize I'm missing my name tag and keys. I turn to go back inside and the door is locked. I try to knock but realize that Tommy is already gone. Thankfully I live minutes from the bank but my manager is going to be pissed that I forgot my nametag again.
I run down the stairs, almost tripping on the last couple, and finally get to the street. I see people starting to file into the bank as I try and catch up so it doesn't seem like I'm late. I finally get behind the counter and just as I'm about to clock in I hear Logan yell my name. “Connor! I told you if you showed up late again that I’d make you work with the janitor for a week.” I turn around and smile. “I'm aware you like to make threats, Logan, but we both know I'm the best teller you have and you need help with the morning rush.” He rolls his eyes. “Well, sadly for the janitor: I need you to train the new teller this week, so I'll give you another chance but don't make me follow through with my threats.” He turns to walk towards his office and waves me to follow. As we arrive he takes his seat saying: “So our new teller's name is Nora. She hasn't done this kinda work before so you need to be thorough.” I nod. “Sounds good.” I start to head to the door then he yells “She will be here after morning rush, please don't sleep with this one. Thank you.” I smirk and chuckle a little as I head to the counter to clock in and set up for the morning.
The morning rush goes as usual with only a few odd cases; then I head to the break room to grab a snack since I probably won't get lunch while training another bimbo. As I'm grabbing my beef jerky from the vending machine I hear Logan talking “We are so happy that you are joining the team. I have our best teller ready to train you this week.” Then I hear what I can only assume is the new girl Nora “Thank you I'm very excited. I hope I can keep up with them.'' I turn around as I hear the door open and I see her walk in. I can't take my eyes off of her. Her eyes are emerald green and her strawberry blonde hair falls just past her shoulder blades. She is breathtaking. Logan starts to introduce me and I'm snapped out of her trance. “So Nora, this is Conner. He is our best teller and he will be in charge of training you all week. Let me know if you need anything.” Logan leaves the room as she smiles at me and I have to remind myself to breathe “Hi Conner! It's so nice to meet you. I will try not to slow you down too much.” She holds out her hand and I go to shake it in response but as soon as my hand touches hers I feel electricity shoot though my body and now I know I have to have her. “Hi Nora nice to meet you too, and if you slow me down it's alright. It means I get to spend more time with you.” I wink at her and she gives me a strange look.
POV Nora
When Connor touches my hand I get goose bumps and I feel like I can't think straight. Why did I react that way to his touch? Why is it when I look into his blue eyes I feel like I've known him forever? His dark hair only makes his eyes stand out more, which is making it impossible to focus. I need to touch him again. I need more. I realized he was talking once I finally stopped feeling fuzzy and the only part I caught was the cheesiest pick up line. I lightly punch his arm and start to laugh “You must be the biggest player with a line like that.” He lets out a slight chuckle. Connor heads to the door and holds it open. “ Well, let's get started.” He says with a slight grin.
