Senshi's Reawakening!
"Aqua, protect the students, I'll handle him. Alone." I said, while crouching down on all four in my battle stance.
"Don't worry about us, just handle that bastard!" Aqua said, simultaneously activating her water barrier around her and the students.
I blitzed around the auditorium gathering speed, flowing towards Daxion like the wind.
I aimed for Daxion's neck, but Daxion narrowly teleported, summoning his black flame blade. Daxion attempted to pierce my heart, but his attack only pierced the wind.
Daxion cast two more black flame balls, but I summoned two bolts of my green lightning, instantly nullifying his flame upon contact.
"Ah, so the rumors were true. You really have created your own version of the black lighting of the ancient dragons. Now that makes me wonder, who is the recipient of such boundless love. We both know dragon lighting is a surge of love..." Daxion taunted, while dashing towards me.
I enchanted my katana, Godbreaker, with my lighting and dashed towards Daxion, aiming for his left arm. He nearly dodged, but I made my blade extend, chopping of Daxion's arm.
Daxion tossed his blade to his right hand, then engaged in a powerful clash with me, vaporizing the entire auditorium.
Aqua immediately reinforced her water barrier, protecting her and the students.
I used the impact of our clash to blitz towards Daxion, stabbing him in the heart with my right katana arm, Godbreaker.
Daxion coughed up a stream of blood while he manically smiled at me.
I looked down and saw I had also been stabbed by Daxion's black flame blade through my Godbreaker armor, slightly piercing my quantum heart.
I transformed my right arm back into my hand to destroy Daxion's flame sword, then I grabbed him by the throat and crashed into the ground with his face.
I relentlessly rained down strikes on Daxion's face until he was unrecognizable.
I transformed my right arm back into the Godbreaker katana, then stabbed Daxion in the neck.
"Gedo..." Daxion said, causing his entire body to burst into black flames, disintegrating my armor.
I quickly retreated away, landing nearby aqua and the students, deactivating Godbreaker before walking towards everyone.
"I haven't seen you use that much power in awhile, you should have the nurse check you out later." Aqua said, while deactivating her water barrier.
The battlemages and Aurora arrived as the students began to regain consciousness.
"Maybe later." I said, while chuckling. "But first, let's take care of the stud...".
Before I could finish my words, I stabbed in the back, by a familiar white lotus katana.
"It seems, thee has finally completed thy duty. Now, what was bestowed will be returned." Mikari said, while emerging from my shadow, holding his katana.
Mikari sliced my right arm off, grabbing the Godbreaker katana, simultaneously dropping my badly mangled body.
Aurum along with the other students and battlemages watched in pure horror, while Aqua looked at the scene with a face of indignation.
"Although I need my weapon back, I bestow thee, white lotus of Hikigaru. I am no longer worthy of such an honor..." Mikari said, while fusing his katana with my body, replacing Godbreaker.
"Why did you steal his blade, you bastard?!" Aurum yelled.
"His blade? This blade is rightfully mine. My father gave me this weapon, but..." Mikari explained, before teleporting behind Sekai.
"How did you..?" Sekai said, before being stabbed in the throat by Mikari.
These events are the only things I can recall before falling unconscious.
When I regained consciousness, I was in a luxury hospital, where my commanding officer and long time comrade, Azura, sat next to me.
"How long have I been out?" I asked, while sitting up from the bed.
"A bit over 5 months, but thanks to your quantum heart, losing the Godbreaker and having another blade fused with your soul didn't kill you." Azura said, while she continued reading her papers.
"Wait, what do you mean?!" I asked, but my head immediately began to hurt as more memories began to flood into my mind.
"Are you alright?" Azura said, as she jumped up from her chair.
"Argh, I'm fine. My mind was a bit shocked for a moment, but I'm slowly remembering everything now. Damn it, why did this happen...?" I replied.
"Mikari Volare isn't someone mortal minds can comprehend. He's far too intelligent and holds far more power than just Godbreaker, but he bestowed you another katana didn't he?" Victor said, while walking into the room.
"I remember him saying it's known as the white lotus katana, apparently it can only be wielded by the Hikigaru clan shadow lord." I explained.
"So he's chosen you as the clan's Inheritor, intriguing to say the least. It's your choice to accept the title of shadow lord, but you'll have to prove your worth. First, by enduring the trials and tribulations of the journey to the north, to reach Mount Helix." Victor explained.
I have gotten significantly weaker since losing Godbreaker, but more than that I've been feeling as if I lost a part of myself.
Yet, white lotus has managed to give me a strange sense of comfort.
"Alright, I wanna journey to the north, but before I do, I need to make preparations and I'll need your help again." I said, while bowing my head to Azura and Victor.
"Raise your head you i***t, there's no need to go so far over something such as this. We planned to help you anyway, so there's no need." Azura said.
"I'll make enhancements to your quantum heart and I'll also need to make modifications to your new white lotus katana." Victor said.
I couldn't help but be grateful for having such great comrades.
Mikari was once my comrade, which allowed him to betray me. Yet, strangely enough, I don't feel any true hatred towards him.
Maybe, it's because I knew it would happen again. or maybe...
"Did you hear me, Senshi?" Victor said, while preparing to leave.
"My bad, what were you saying?" I responded.
"Don't worry about it. Just meet me in my lab later when you've finished recovering then I'll make all the necessary preparations for your journey." Victor said, before leaving.
A few days later, I fully recovered from my injuries and decided to visit Victor's lab immediately, so I can make the preparations for my journey.
"You've finally made it, Senshi. You came just in time, I've just finished the preparations for your journey." Victor said.
"Sweet, so tell me what I'm working with." I replied.
"I've enchanted your white lotus katana with wind, stealth, lightning, and quantum enchantments, but none of these can take effect until you give your katana an name to bind it." Victor explained.
"But doesn't it already have a name and besides I didn't have to do this last time." I replied
"White lotus is the katana title not the name, besides last time it wasn't your weapon, while this katana has already fused with you, but you haven't accepted the weapon as your own." Victor explained.
"Alright, give me a minute." I said.
So I gotta give the katana a name, huh. Let's see it's extremely long and thin but also has very beautiful lotus patterns on the blade and handle.
"From now on, you are Miswak." I said, causing the katana to completely fuse with my soul, disappearing from my hand.
"Now that you have your weapon, let's discuss your quantum heart." Victor said.
"Has something changed?" I asked
"As you already know, each quantum heart massively multiplies the potential of one's physical and magical capabilities while also granting them unique abilities depending on the quantum star their heart was created from..." Victor explained.
"Yes, this part is obvious." I interrupted.
"But, your heart is different for two reasons. Firstly, because of your connection to Godbreaker. As long as you have an weapon in place of Godbreaker, your quantum heart is able to mimic the divine nullification and purification of Godbreaker." Victor explained.
"So does this mean I'm pretty much the ultimate weapon...?" I asked, sarcastically.
"In layman terms, yes. Technically speaking, as long as you're fused with a weapon, you're the ultimate weapon and swordsman." Victor said.
"What was the second reason you mentioned?" I asked.
"The quantum star your heart was created from is one that has a primordial prophecy attached to it, which is what inspired the naming of it." Victor explained.
"So what's the name of this star?" I asked.
"Ragnarok." He replied.
We both sat in silence for a moment, staring at each other, before we both burst out laughing.
"How about we go ahead and gauge Miswak's and Ragnarok ability before I began my training?" I asked.
"Sure" Victor replied, while still chuckling a bit.
Victor took me to one of his training rooms where Azura stood across the room waiting for me, holding her signature pole naginata.
"It's been a long time since we've fought, I recall you beating the s**t out of me last time." I said, while my right arm transformed into the long katana that was Miswak.
"The result of this match won't be any different, especially since you've lost all the overwhelming traits Godbreaker bestowed you." Azura taunted, while raising her naginata.
"Well you're right for the most part..." I responded.
Azura suddenly interrupted me. "How about we make a deal?" She suggested.
"Sure." I said.
"The winner of the match has to buy the loser a new outfit." Azura said.
"Quite confident aren't you, I'll leave you two to it then, find me later when you're done." I said.
"Black turtleneck, black trenchcoat, black dress shoes, and black slacks." I replied.
"What?" Azura said.
"I want the full edge lord's outfit, if I lose." I replied.
We both couldn't help but laugh before dashing towards each other at full speed, creating a massive shockwave upon clashing blades.
I transformed into wind, moving behind Azura, attempting to s***h her, but she predicted my movements and parried.
She followed up with a precise s***h of her own, but I used my wind movement again to create distance between us.
Mid battle, I was suddenly able to see the threads of fate for just a moment, which caused my green dragon lighting to surge within me for the first time, since I was betrayed.
I blitzed towards Azura, faster than any natural bolts of lightning, kneeing her in the stomach before she could blink.
"Damn, when did you learn to use ancient dragon lighting...?" Azura murmured.
"Don't worry about it, I'll buy you a few outfits after I finish my training." I said.
After we finished our duel, I began honing my skill with Miswak while also learning more about the nature of my quantum heart.
I spent the remainder of the year training with Azura and the other Nîxworld soldiers while occasionally taking on deployments.
