CHAPTER 1

1216 Words
LILLIAN POV Welcome to Luxembourg. “Home sweet home.” I thought to myself as the plane touched ground with an heavy thud and I felt like I was nineteen again as I looked out the window with anticipation as I remembered how my life was like, before I moved from here, from my family, six years ago. I miss my family…my mum, my elder brother…Simeon, my younger brother…Liam and him. Drake. My half brother. My controlling half brother. The major reason I applied to study across the ocean, so that I can be far away from him, to be free to live my life, away from his controlling self and opinions. And now, six years is over and I am being asked to return home, to start my life close by and even though I had insisted on staying back, my petitions had fallen on deaf ears. But I miss them though, so much…also, my two best friends, who was also studying in the same institution, Cassie and Joshua, moved back with me, it was coincidental though, but we are all moving back together after swearing to never return, when we were leaving, six years ago. The shame. “Penny for your thoughts big head?” Josh snickered as we got down from the plane and turned to see me wearing a wide grin. “Hmmm…nothing really” I said cheerily as we entered the airport to pick our luggages, “I just remembered the oath we made here when we got admission.” “Oh please don’t remind me of that pathetic memory” Cassie said bemusedly, “I’m so glad no one saw us that day for I will be so embarrassed.” Soon we all doubled back on our knees laughing as we remembered three frustrated teenagers, each with a reason to run away from this place, making a solemn promise not to return back as we board a plane out of Luxembourg. Cassie has a dictator mother, while Josh had just opened up about him being gay, much to the displeasure of his family….so he saw reasons to relocate overseas with us, far from his judgmental family. But now, the time has come for each of us to face our fears, but we are not sure we are ready, at least I’m not…. I’m not sure if I’m ready to see Drake again, to be told what to do and where to go…. I know he means well but I f*****g missed my prom date because of him. He is messing with my f*****g life and the rest of the family are applauding him for that. Well, it’s been six years and I have gotten more matured, I reasoned hopefully, matured enough to get my own apartment, to get my own car and drive it….myself. And soon enough, my palm suddenly became sweaty and it combined with my beating heart which had increased its tempo, I knew instantly, he was here. ************************** “Hello little sister.” My face broke into a huge smile when I heard my favorite brother’s voice, Simeon, and I turned back immediately to see him standing side by side with my Half brother, Drake, both holding a huge banner that says ‘welcome home Lily.’ But before I could run towards them, I heard Cassie called out suddenly from where we had been standing, waiting to see if our bags will be rolled out to us; “Here is yours Lily, that black big one ” she said as she pointed to my luggage moving towards us slowly on the row of luggages. “Yeah please help me to take it down when it arrives.” I begged Cassie and she gave me a wide smile in return, then I ran towards my brothers and flew into Simeon’s arms and tears flowed freely as I got engulfed in his embrace….for it’s been six years, six years of not seeing my family, of running from my other brother who is standing silently with his hands in his trouser pockets, watching…patiently waiting for his turn as we broke the hug looking all emotional. Then finally, I turned to Drake and flashed him a big smile as I went in for a hug and stood there praying fervently as he wrapped his arms around me, for him to be less controlling than I remembered. “So how was your trip little sister?” Simeon asked as he walked over to where Cassie and Josh stood holding my luggage, clearly unsure of joining us or remaining where they are….and from the look of it, the picked the latter. “It was very fine, but kinda stressful” I replied as I watched Simeon lift my heavy luggage effortlessly like it was foam, with his muscles rippling in his shirt …muscles that I hadn’t noticed earlier, which made me stop on my tracks to look at him closely to see some features that he didn’t possess before, features that made him look so handsome that it would have made me blush if he weren’t my elder brother. He caught me staring and smirked, flashing me his boyish grin and asked; “Why the dreamy look sister?” “Wh—? No no…You look very handsome Simeon” I beamed at him as my eyes roved all over his body, his tall muscular frame, his tanned skin, brown hair and his very handsome chiseled face “Oh please Lily” he snorted as his face turned red, “I know I’m trying, but haven’t you seen Drake?” “Drake?” I asked, already laughing from his ‘joke’ but I gasped in shock as I turned around to see who I had just hugged! Who is this Demi god?! I stared with my mouth wide open as my eyes fell upon my half brother, who had remained rooted on the spot and had been watching me intensely without a word and my heavens! He looked so handsome, in fact it’s safe to say that Drake Robinson is so far the most handsome guy I have met, I reasoned as I looked up at his tall frame to his chiseled face, looking very sexy with a sword tattoo on his right arm, his green eyes shining brightly with a short jet black black hair that he always roughens up out of habit, making him look strikingly handsome that he made other men around him look mid. I gulped as I became suddenly aware of my surroundings and noticed the stares from other people, especially females, which made me uneasy that I became sweaty and hot instantly as my social anxiety kicks in and Drake, having noticed this, held me protectively on my shoulders and asked with a big smile on his face; “Ready to see your family little one?” “Y—yes I am” I replied nervously as I noticed another group of ladies walking past, whispering and throwing us hateful jealous glances over their shoulders. He is my brother for heavens sake! “Then let’s go” he said adoringly as he led me and Simeon out of the airport, with Cassie and Josh following closely behind, “we have a lot to talk about.”
