The Lake house

Far beyond the lake house lies a narrow path that led to the old road situated close to the beach where a group of teenagers were having a small party. They had camped closed to the beach at the other side of the valley near the thick forest on Tuesday morning and were pitching their tents all day long giving them no time for games. They erected the tent in three groups each facing the other with a fenced perimeter for protection against intruders as well as wild animals. Although they arrived during the summer, the wind still felt cold during the night so they came with thick blankets to keep warm till the end of their vacation. Among them was Kelvin who loves the outdoor life and would always travel to places to spend quality time with the natural beauty of the world and he also has a wild interest in solving mysterious cases especially those that involves sudden disappearance of a person. His brother, Jake nicknamed him Sherlock Holmes ever since they were in high school at their hometown back in Summerville. With this in mind, Kelvin had, just after dinner, snuck out of the campsite undetected by the rest of the group members and had wandered off into the thick forest in search of where the mysterious lake house might be located so that he could come back again when it's already dark. "I hope I'm not getting lost", he said as he began to tread on a narrow path surrounded by tall trees, which had dry brown leaves, with a detailed old map in his hands that he got from an old man, who once lived in the area. Then he looked at the map again and turned right towards an old road that has been abandoned twenty years ago by the early dwellers who once lived around this part of the world. "I guess that old man must have lived here when this road was built, for him to have a profound and accurate description of the area in this map", he thought to himself after reaching the end of the road. Then he checked the map which indicated that there was a street sign at that point, which would now be covered by thick bushes. He moved a step further and found it well hidden by some thorny bushes for the grass had totally enclosed it for a long time. After brushing away some of the thorns which fell to the ground, he saw warning sign that read, "DO NOT TRESPASS". Back at the camp , the others had just finished eating their afternoon meal and were now settling most of their bags in their respective tents individually. The first of the six tents situated at the left side of the campsite that was close to the fence, belong to Stanley, a fair-skinned man, who happens to be the leader of the group and the mastermind behind the whole trip to the beach. He was known to be jovial with most of the students back at the Campus, even though he's one of the administrator of the institution. While some students see him to be a nice young lecturer, others see him as a womanizer and would secretly say derogatory remarks about his flirtatious attitude in the campus. Although Stanley was a good teacher, he indeed in fact loved and acted flirtatious around most female students most of the time especially during his lectures. That's why many male students loathed him for snatching away the lovely attention of the female students which they yearn for. As for the female students, most of them fell for his charming charisma especially his handsome looks as well as his deep masculine voice which they loved to hear each time he lectured them. Some of the party ladies which they so call themselves, always gossip about him a lot at their private room in the girl's dorm. They were the masterminds behind a rumour, which almost crippled Stanley's career, that spread around the campus about him having a secret affair with one of the female students. But these were all cooked up stories until Stacy Green, a first year student, came along. Stanley was twenty-nine when he began his work as a lecturer in the campus and he was annually assigned vigorous tasks that required managerial experience combined with intellectual capabilities to handle, which he hardly possessed. He made a lot of new friends during the second year of his career and got acquainted with Kevin surnamed Lee, who was among the new students that entered into the campus, together with his brother Jake, who was known, among other brilliant students, to make a remarkable entry as well as Stacy Green who beat most of her counterparts, to place second in the entrance examinations. Jake was studying biochemistry in the chemistry department while Kevin and Stacy both found themselves in physics department where Stanley taught. Although Kevin was intelligent and brilliant, known to be an inquisitive fellow who was immensely interested in engaging in proving facts that people consider mysterious and unfathomable. He became friends with Stacy which lasted for three years until the relationship at first, declined due to false rumours about them, and finally ended when Stacy decided to befriend Stanley instead of Kevin whom she truly loved which ironically she didn't know. "Yes, please come quickly because I have invited a few guests who would arrive very soon and you need to be here early enough for the party to start on time", Stanley said on the phone, inside his Tent, looking quite serious since he didn't want his surprise party which he had planned, to fall through. "Okay, all right then, we'll kickstart the party as soon as you arrive meanwhile, I and few others here will begin the necessary arrangements", he said with a smirk on his face and ended the phone call. He had made a secretly invited with a Disco jockey, whom he paid a lot of money, to his party. He took out a green T-shirt from his red luggage and a pair of blue trousers which he placed on the bed. Then he wore the green T-shirt and a black wristwatch beside him which he had placed alongside the clothes on the bed, and removed one of the trousers from the bed. After fully dressed, he went outside his tent walking hastily towards the open beach which was sunbaked by the immense amount of heat from the burning sun.
