Kelvin ventured alone into the small room trying to make out obscured objects in the cell using his left hand to touch the left side of the rough wall and managed to find his way to the extreme end of the small compartment under the cloak of darkness which happens to be an arsenal of combat weapons that was hidden from his sight by the darkness at different corners of the cell.
