Lucas looked at the quiet streets below the building through the opaque windows of Jerry's bedroom which have been enveloped in total darkness and pushed the curtains aside for him to gaze at the silent buildings across the streets where the patrolling policemen haven't yet covered ever since the blackout took place but he could still hear their distant sirens resounding loudly in the quiet night far off away from the neighborhood.
