TITANIA: Goddess of War

Chapter 20

Princess glanced up, sending a death glare to each and every one of the Chitauri until she spotted Loki on one of their ships above them. As if on his command, more new aliens poured through the portal with few more Leviathans. Neilrosa's grip on her sword tighten, her eyes narrowed as she was watching the God of Mischief and Lies with a grin on his face.

"Guys?" Natasha's hesitant voice sounded from behind her, as the agent turned to look up too. Others followed her example and their eyes widen at the sight before them.

"Call it, Captain." Tony's robotic voice sounded through their earpieces, but their eyes didn't leave the sky above them. Steve turned to them and like that, gaining their attention once again prepared to explain his plan.

"Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal up there, we're gonna use containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash." Tony nodded and Clint turned to him, adjusting his arrows on his back.

"Wanna give me a lift?" He eyed Stark and hold his bow tight. Tony walked over to him and grabbed him by the back of his vest.

"Right. Better clench up, Legolas." He joked and flew away with Clint. Neilrosa turned to Steve as she felt his eyes on her and awaited orders.

"I want you up too, Rosa. Use your wings and swords and cut everything you can. Use your powers, I know you have various. I'll let you know if we would need back-up. But most importantly, try to stop Loki." She nodded in agreement and changed bat wings suit, closely hugging her body, with her fire hair loose and too small, but big daggers in each of her hands. She smirked at Steve and bounced from the ground, lifting herself in the air and looked over the situation from above.

Thor flew by her, giving her a small smile as he went to the Chrysler building to use his lightning. Nat and Steve stayed down on the ground and princess decided to keep a close eye on them, knowing that two people, even when one of them is a super soldier, can't defeat hoards of aliens alone. Bruce, well now Hulk, went to do his thing, smash.

She turned around just in time as one of the Chitauri fired at her, but she swerved sharply to the side and took out her electric bow, taking down the whole ship with few more behind it. She then turned her head and flight to the Tower, searching for Loki on one of the ships, taking Chitauri out on her way. She was changing weapons as fast as she could, sometimes multitasking with more than two swords at one time, controlling them with her mind.

"Stark. You gotta lot of strays on your tail." She heard Barton through the earpiece, who was on top of the nearby building, shooting and supervising the fight below and in the sky like a hawk. Princess stopped and searched for Tony when she heard another conversation in her ear.

"Just tryin' to keep them off the streets." Tony came out of the corner with a hoard of Chitauri behind him. She took out her two bigger daggers and flew towards him, ready to take care of a few of them.

"Well, they can't bank worth a damn." She could hear Clint smirk as he shot at some without looking behind his back. Neilrosa took out the ones closest to Stark, giving him time.

"Thanks, Athena. Can I take you out for a dinner then?"

"Focus, Stark. We got a bigger problem unless you want me to call Pepper." She teased, when she landed on the roof beside Barton, taking few breaths. Clint just smirked at how she cooled him down. Stark disappeared down the street as he was trying to get away from the hoards of Chitauri behind him.

But something caught princess's eyes on the ground. Nat was bravely fighting alien after alien with their weapon, but she was clearly at the edge of her strength. Princess sighed and looked at Barton, before taking a few steps back and ran forwards, leaping from the building into the air. Spreading her wings, she aimed it to the ground on the overpass where Nat was struggling on the hood of a car against, as it seemed, a very hungry Chitauri.

Before he could get any closer, princess flew by, her sword travelled through the air and the Chitauri's neck, his body slamming to the ground. Nat could finally breath of relief and princess changed to other armour for the ground battle. 

Out of the corner of their eyes, someone landed behind them as both women turned around, aiming their weapon at the intruder, Nat her Chitauri weapon and Neilrisa her light spear. Cap raised his left hand and shield in surrender, a bit scared of the two women warriors in front of him.

Nat let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and leaned against a car, the young goddess put down he sword, but her eyes never left their surroundings and she was still in her fight stance.

"Captain, none of this is gonna mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal." Nat shook her hand and glance up at the portal. Steve and princess followed her gaze.

"Our biggest guns couldn't touch it." Steve pointed out Tony and Neilrosa with Thor.

"Well, maybe it's not about guns," Natasha muttered as she glanced at both of them.

"Nat is right. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Neilrosa looked at Steve with her brow raised.

"You wanna get up there, you're gonna need a ride." He glanced at Nat, who was already looking up at the passing Chitauri's ships, trying to find the right one. She went to the other side of the overpass, Neilrosa got out of her way, watching the agent curiously.

"I got a ride. I could use a boost though."

"You sure about this?" Cap put his shield in front of him like a launchpad.

"Yeah, it's gonna be fun!" Nat said sarcastically, glanced between Steve and ships in the air. She ran to him, jumping on the shield and in the air, grabbing on the passerby ship. Steve and Neilrosa watched as she disappeared in the distance, when a shot rang around them, avoiding them by a few inches. They looked to the right, spotting a mass of Chitauri coming for them. With a glance, they ran to the action, each of them taking on a different side of the mass.

Hugging princess body was now a sleeveless catsuit with two holsters for the daggers at her belt, her hair loose. She had two more holsters with swords on her back as samurai, ready to take them out. Steve whacked one of the aliens with his sword while she slid between his legs and his cut his throat, throwing another dagger at the incoming.

Enemies were coming from all the directions, surrounding the two Avengers as they stood back to back, with their weapons ready.

"Why does it feels like in the '40s?" Princess asked, while her eyes were scanning the Chitauri, looking for weaknesses.

"Have we been in this kind of situation?" Steve as breathing heavily, recovering from the punches.

"You seriously don't remember? Oh, wait till Tony will hear about this." She teased him and took out her swords on the back, two katanas, long and sharp. She smirked evilly and her eyes had a weird shimmer to them. Steve turned his head to her, taking in her features and sighed. He knew that look from the war when she helped him rescue the 107th squad from Hydra. They took a deep breath and charged forward, each of them in their own fight.

"You may want to back down, princess." She heard Stark as he landed before her, blasting the two Chituari incoming and raised his hands on her. She quickly ducked as Tony fired and hit Cap's shield, who moved it around and a blast of energy killed the other Chitauri.

"Thanks for the warning!" She called after Stark as he flew away, continuing the battle. With Cap, they went back to the fighting, but the numbers of enemies were endless. 

Neilrosa was getting exhausted, knowing that if they won't close the gate, not only they won't stand a chance, but the whole city and a whole world would be destroyed. She was already cut and bruised all over her body when a surprise attack came from behind, knocking her into the door of a car in front of her. She groaned as she tried to get up, a blast nearly missed her head. Her head turned sharply to the left, finding Steve pinned to the ground by one of them and several others walking towards her, their guns aimed at her.

She summoned her shield as they began firing, just in time. Summoning one of her electric arrows, she banged it to the ground, sending electricity to Chitauri and fried them. Steve meanwhile got out from beneath the alien and both of them were breathing heavily, sitting on the ground.

"Captain, Princess, the bank on 42nd, past Maddison. They cornered a lot of civilians in there." Clint's voice sounded through their earpieces as they looked at each other. Steve got from the ground, grunting a bit and came to Neilrosa, offering her his hand. She grabbed it and got up, limping a bit as her right leg got pretty bruised.

"We are on it." He answered, his eyes were carefully looking princess up and down, but she just smiled at him, patted his back and went ahead. 

They jogged to the building and hid behind a car parked on the other end of the street, watching the windows of the bank where a silhouettes od Chituari could be seen.

"So what's the plan, Cap?" Neilrosa looked at him while his eyes never left the bank.

"We are going to get in through that window and try to get them out, so people can escape. Better get your daggers ready, it will be a close fight." He pointed at the window with the silhouettes and she nodded. Tightening her belt and holsters on her back, she grabbed onto Steve, who went few steps back and then ran forward, jumping on a roof of a car and into the bank.

Breaking the window with his shield, the Chitauri immediately turned their head to them and got their weapons out. Princess jumped down from Cap's back and plunged her dagger into one of them, while she kicked his legs and a grenade-like device, which was beeping, flew out of his hands. Cap was fighting with another behind her back, snapping his neck and throwing him down into the pit.

"Everyone clear out!" He screamed when he was at the railing, but an alien grabbed him by the throat and tried to take off his mask. He was trying to fight him off as Neilrosa came running to him and slashed the back of Chitauri, gaining his attention. As he turned around to attack her, she was faster with plunging her dagger into his chest and twisting; he has fallen dead to the ground. But they forgot one thing, the detonation device and it went off. 

Cap missed to grab her and they got blasted out of the window and onto the car. Princess screamed from a sudden pain in her back, as it came in contact with hard metal. Steve slid off the car and slowly helped her down, helping her to stand up. It was just them when she noticed, that he doesn't have his mask, but it seemed not to bother him.

"You okay?" He lifted her chin to look at her face, but she brushed him off, looking around. She turned to the direction of the Stark Tower where the battle seemed abysmal.

"We need to move and get back to the tower. I'm okay Steve, you know me. I'm tough, you saw me during the war." Neilrosa half turned her head when she said it. She didn't want him to see her pain, it was a weakness for her. 

Without other words she started to ran; she didn't bother to look behind her if Steve is following, she could hear his steps. Halfway there they met with Thor, who was trying to get Chitauri off the streets. Princess sighed and got her sword out from her back, killing an alien, who tried to attack the God of Thunder from behind.

"You are welcome." She said sarcastically and smiled at Thor's face, as he turned around, surprised.

"Anything new on Loki?" She eyed Thor, seeing the anger in his face.

"No, he is somewhere above us. And that portal, I just still don't know how to close it. Tried everything." He sighed and shook his head. Princess patted him on the shoulder and nodded in agreement, knowing that even she was unable to close it.

Chitauri spotted them as they were standing there casually and chatting, and used it to attack them. When Neilrosa saw them approaching, she just sighed and took her other sword out too, swinging both in her hands and went forward to the aliens.

"Let's get this over with." She muttered under her breath, but Steve and Thor heard her and they heard her frustration too. Before any of them could blink, she took out 3 of the Chitauri and was fighting another. They didn't wait for her approval, Thor threw his hammer while Cap his shield, knocking a few of the Chitauri out. 

As their weapons got back to them, they joined princess in her fight, punching and kicking the aliens. Just as Steve turned around to kick another, a blast came out of nowhere and shot him in the ribs, knocking him down on the ground. 

"Steve!" Princess yelled as she was here best friend in pain no the ground and together with Thor throw a car on the incoming Chitauri, killing them all and Thor threw Mjolnir the other way. He then helped Steve to his feet as he was latching onto his side, groaning from the pain.

"You ready for another round?" Thor eyed him, while Neilrosa looked at him with her brows raised.

"What, you gettin' sleepy?" Steve tasing, even though he was breathing heavily. Princess looked at him as if he was serious, shaking her head at him. Suddenly, Nat's voice rang through the earpiece in a pleading manner.

"I can close it. Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down!" Steve heard it and immediately react turning to Neilrosa and Thor.

"Do it!"

"No, wait." Stark sailed in.

"Stark, these things are still coming!" Steve argued, looking up at the portal.

"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." Neilrosa gasped and covered her mouth. She couldn't believe that S.H.I.E.L.D. would do something like that, sending a nuke that would not only kill Chitauri and them but level the city from the ground too.

"And I know just where to put it." Neilrosa looked up at the portal, she knew what Tony meant.

"Stark, you know that's a one-way trip." She said as her eyes were searching for him. He was silent, at least for the rest of the team. They were waiting, like fans on the edge of their seats in the cinema when a sound of engines could be heard in the distance.

Tony was flying through the city with a nuke on his back, giving his last bits of energy on saving the city. Princess, Steve and Thor turned their heads as he flew above them to the tower and up to the portal. When he disappeared inside, they all let out a breath of relief, but it wasn't over, no yet. 

Neilrosa was nervously watching the portal, waiting for Tony to come out and be as cheery as he can be, but nothing. They were all getting anxious, he was nowhere to be found. After a long time and an explosion of the nuke approaching the portal, Steve ordered.

"Close it." Nat didn't wait any more and closed it, but all of them were still hoping that Tony would come out of it. When the portal was about to close completely, a figure came out of it, falling to the ground.

"Son of a gun!" Steve chuckled and shook his head. Neilrosa chuckled too but frowned when Tony was still falling, he seemed unconscious. 

"He is not slowing down," Thor commented as he prepared himself to fly and catch him, when Hulk, out of nowhere, grabbed him in the air and fall at the overpass, with Stark on his chest.

The three heroes ran there as Hulk threw Tony off of him. Thor pulled off Iron Man's faceplate, revealing Tony with a bleeding nose, unconscious. Steve tried to listen to his heartbeat but noticed that his arc reactor wasn't glowing. Neilrosa covered her mouth, tears started to form in her eyes as she stood above him. Hulk had enough of it and roared, startling everyone, even Tony, who woked up and screamed. 

"What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me. Well, maybe I wouldn't mind if it would be you, Neilrosa." Tony looking around him and chuckled. They all chuckled with him and shook their heads.

"We won." Steve breathed out.

"Alright, Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. You ever tried shawarma? There's shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it."

"We're not finished yet." Thor reminded them and all of them looked first at him, then at the tower.

"And then shawarma after?" Tony tried to joke, so there wouldn't be so much tension.
