Chapter 7: The Seduction
Cassius's eyes locked onto Rory's as he poured her another glass of wine. He could see the tension in her body, the way her shoulders stiffened as he approached her.
"Relax, Rory," Cassius said, his voice low and soothing. "I promise I won't bite."
Rory's eyes flashed with amusement, but Cassius could see the fear lurking beneath her surface. He knew that he had to tread carefully, to seduce her without scaring her off.
As they sipped their wine, Cassius steered the conversation towards art, towards the things that Rory was passionate about. He listened intently, his eyes locked onto hers, as she spoke about her inspirations, her creative process.
Cassius was fascinated by Rory's passion, by the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about art. He felt a surge of excitement, a sense of anticipation, as he realized that he was getting closer to his goal.
As the evening wore on, Cassius suggested that they take a walk through the gardens. Rory agreed, and they strolled through the manicured lawns, the sound of crickets and rustling leaves filling the air.
The night was warm and sultry, the stars twinkling above them like diamonds. Cassius felt a sense of romance, of possibility, as he walked beside Rory.
As they reached a secluded spot, Cassius turned to Rory, his eyes locked onto hers. "I have to say, I'm really enjoying your company," he said, his voice low and husky.
Rory's cheeks flushed, but she didn't look away. "I'm enjoying yours too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Cassius's heart skipped a beat as he heard her words. He knew that he had her right where he wanted her.
And with that, Cassius leaned in, his lips brushing against Rory's. The kiss was soft and gentle, but it sent shivers down Rory's spine.
As they pulled away, Cassius smiled, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "I think we're going to get along just fine," he said, his voice dripping with seduction.
Rory's eyes sparkled with amusement, but Cassius could see the fear lurking beneath her surface. He knew that he had to tread carefully, to seduce her without scaring her off.
But as he looked into her eyes, Cassius knew that he was willing to take that risk. He was willing to do whatever it took to make Rory his own.
